Really nice and funny guy, really enjoyed his lectures, completely changed my view of Art History. Textbook could be useful but I didn't need it and got an A. Take really good notes from lectures & copy everything from the powerpoints, he doesn't share his notes. He is available outside class. only grades are 4 online exams. (very easy w/ notes)

Your grade is determined by 4 exams (25% each). That being said, they are all online and they are open note. You shouldn't have too hard a time in his class and his lectures are generally interesting.

Really awesome Professor with amazing lectures. Not being an art major I wasn't looking forward to having to take an art class, but he made it fun and worthwhile! I loved the class location and every lecture was interesting and he's also hilarious! Easy 4 tests (online), making for an easy A!

The grades are only based on 4 tests, but they're not hard as long as you pay attention in class. His lectures are interesting!

This class was my simplest, least-stressful class. Show up to lectures, take notes, and you'll do fine on the 4 online exams. He is fast and sometimes hard to keep up with, but he will emphasize the things on the exams and tells you that you need to know them. He also tells you what you don't need to know (hint: he'll say "that's fine", you'll see)

Go to class, the material on the test comes only from his lectures. I did not open the textbook ONCE the whole semester and finished with a 98. However, I am a very good note taker and it wasn't an easy A, as other classes may be. Talks fast and sometimes it is difficult to discern what is pertinent and what is superfluous information.

go to class, itll make it easier on you. I didnt go and passed with a 90% flat. But majority of students who dont go get a B so I got lucky. Just get an A in this class, its not much work. EXAMS ARE ONLINE/TAKE HOME. use those notes, and write them in detail as possible. I'd recommend to try to take a different art credit bc hes a dry teacher

Graded only on four online exams. They're about 60 minutes each. Just go to lecture and write down majority of what he says, and you'll get A's on all your exams. Since it's online, you can use the powerpoints, textbook, google, etc. He also gives an image list (a study guide), that helps a lot. It's an easy A as long as you show up and take notes.

I went to class until the first exam. I got an A on the exam and realized it was so easy. I started not going to class at all and still ended up with an A. Dont buy the expensive book. most of the things you need is said in class or free online . Going to class will make the test a lot easier but overall great teacher and great class material.

Panbehchi was an amazing professor to have for my first semester at college. His lectures were super fast paced, but never boring. He's a funny guy, but doesn't try to hard. He gets that it's a 100 level, but still makes it worth your time. The tests weren't bad if you write good notes, and if you go to class, reading the textbook isn't necessary.

WORST professor EVER! Lectures have 0 relevance to the 4 50 question M/C & T/F online exams. Only ONE hour for impossibly difficult exams! Took this class as a fun GenEd; it is harder than all of my pre-med Science classes. Exams full of typos on difficult names, making it impossible to search 500 pages of book + 350 ppt. AVOID HIM! SAVE YOUR GPA!!

Panbehchi's really chill and has a lot of hidden jokes in his lectures that are worth listening for. Entire grade was made up of 4 tests (25% each) which is a little scary, but they are online and take home so they aren't hard to pass.

Graded on only four tests. They are very accessible and straightforward online tests. Lectures are good and enriching and funny enough that you want to go to class, even if it won't hurt you to not go to a few.

Lectures and online tests. I go to every class and take notes and the highest test grade I've gotten is a 90. These tests are hard, there always seems to be stuff on them that he never went over in class. STUDY before you take them. You can google as you go, but some of the questions are not on the internet, & you'll run out of test time looking.

I was dreading art history honestly, but I'm so glad I took this class. I learned a lot, he's hilarious and lectures were never boring even though he apologized a lot for it being dry or lecture-heavy. Pay attention to the lectures and you'll pass the exams, though there is a lot of info covered.

Extremely knowledgable and passionate about art history. Teaches exclusively through lectures and although the powerpoints are online he adds a lot of important information during the class so it's a good idea to go to class. Read the textbook. Very funny.

He is honestly my favorite professor at VCU. I enjoyed his class, he was very clear about what he expected you to show in your exams and papers. His lectures were awesome, definitely read the textbook though. He explained everything clearly and was very flexible when it came to dates when papers and exams were. He clearly cares about his students.
