Comment:
Dr. Bartee has potential to be one of the best teachers out there. People need to understand that the groups he conducts are not professional groups and thus will not be treated as such. Like wise, he needs to know that some people don't want to be professional musicians which means they don't care when he talks about rehearsal etiquette.

Comment:
Dr. Bartee is very kind and responsive to student needs, so it's unclear why the previous raters bashed him, unless they dislike Dr. Bartee's insistence on attendance and the importance of daily practice. As a trombonist, Dr. Bartee certainly DOES spend time with the brass section, but since the strings program is weak, they need extra help. Duh!

All he cares about is the string section. Its as if the brass dont exist, not to mention the percussion. We do things so many times that by the time of the concert we are sick of the music. He will let us get away with just about anything in class though. And if you miss the class you're on his list for life.

Always gripes about us wasting time; his griping takes up MORE time than our occasional joke. Not that it matters; he doesn't teach. He spouts cliches instead of fixing problems. If he invested ANY energy and fixed problems, we could be much better. Helping fix stuff is "stepping on his toes."
