Fairly spontaneous, makes fun voices. Nice, works with students (will bump things back for whole class for busy students). Hands you everything you need to pass the essays, just take notes. Enjoys speculation and theoretical topics in novels, not just regurgitating what happened in the book; themes, what they mean, etc.

He basically puts notes on a projector and lectures about them. there is no thinking whatsoever. you have to sit there and write notes all class long. He also likes to go right up to and even past the end of class. Getting out 3 minutes early is a gift. He doesn't like explaining how he grades until after you have turned in the assignment.

The class wasn't too hard and the discussions were interesting. The biggest problem was his lack of clarity for assignments. I had to write a huge paper and he never explained what to actually write about. Fun class but a very disorganized teacher. Did cancel a few classes, but he let us know early on. Overall decent class.

Always late. Takes five minutes to get a drink of water. Always running back to his office for a file. When he talks, he looks at the ceiling. It's slightly strange. He's definitely a scholar, but he can't teach.

Very smart and obviously (is constantly pointing out his having written such and such an article or revitalized so and so's career) knows the material very well. Lectures are disorganized and hard to follow, and the syllabus isn't useful since he doesn't stick to it.

he is a very brainy type of english teacher. Show up to class and expect to think. The reason he cancels class is that he work for the UW system and has meetings. I woudl take this teacher because he is the chair of the eng. department and if you need help or something done for you he has the pull. get on his good side. he's very nice

VERY disorganized. We were consistantly 3 weeks behind schedule. He cancelled class all the time. when we did have a normal class, his lectures were hard to understand. It was hard to tell what he wanted for the test answers. Avoid his class at all costs!

He knows his stuff but can be hard to follow. Like another person noted, he sometimes asks for opinions and then restates it to say something totally different. Sometimes doesn't make up his mind on assignments or books needed until almost the end of the semester - frustrating when you suddenly have unexpected essays to write in the last few weeks.

comes to class 10 minutes late constantly, is not consistant with essays/test dates. While in class discussion, will cast aside student's views/opinions and substitutes his own, as he deems 'correct' Is a nice enough person, but doesn't quite adapted to the profession.

the guy is a hottie-smart too, funny. that makes the class enjoyable. his sence of humor makes the class fun to be in. look forward to that part of my day! DO, DO take his class--you will love it. best prof here!! What's in his mug? COFFEE! he spilled it all over once and the whole room smelled like coffee. You go guy!! you are great!

He is the worst prof at UW-S. His desire to be funny made a mockery of my major area of study, and as a prof of literature, he should not be making fun of any of the humanities. Dropping his boring class was the best thing I could have done.
