Avoid at all costs! Every time I had an advising section with Dr. Dare, I would leave nearly in tears. He is very disrespectful and degrading, and not at all helpful with questions I had. Every time I had a question I wanted a real answer to, I ended up going to another advisor. This man single handedly made me drop my Journalism major.

I was a bit skeptical coming into class, but I've never learned more from a professor. He has mandatory class, but gives you note sheets and study guides to prepare. He also curves exams, but they are all written. Don't stress over the paper, I had a B going into the paper and final and finished with an A. He's a really good professor.

You have to work very hard in this class. Each class is lecture/discussion style, but he provides a study guide to go along with the discussion. You have to read the book to get the answers though. The essay at the end of the course can easily make or break your grade. All of the exams are short answer.

Com Law and Ethics is a difficult course. If you don't want to study hard for exams, don't take it. However, Dr. Dare is a great professor. He's smart and witty. He appreciates critical thinking and good writing. He's a little hard to understand, but he will repeat himself. 3 exams (including the final) and a term paper. He really is a great guy!

The class can be a bit frustrating at first but after a week or so you will get used to the style of it. Attendance is not mandatory so if you dont like going you dont have to. I thought it was fairly easy overall.

The class was difficult, and required effort. However Dr Dare is a very knowledgeable man with a ton of experience in the field and he brings a lot to the class from outside experience. While the exams are not easy and there is a long paper, I'd say that his passion and past experience is reason enough to take him. WILL HAVE TO WORK HARD.

Boring teacher! You only have 3 grades which is midterm, research paper (20+ pages), and final. Basically repeats the notes that you were suppose to take from the book. I could honestly have done this class online if it was offered in that format. I will NEVER take a class with this guy again. I will say he is nice, but that's not much.

Do not take a class with Dare! He will ramble on about pointless things and lecture about the same subject multiple times. He has NO interest whatsoever in the students and will rush you out of his office if you make the mistake of going to him for help. He's rude to students in class too. Avoid this man like the plague.

While I agree that he is an incredibly intelligent man, I do not agree with his teaching style. If you do not participate in class he will call on you. If you get an answer wrong, he will accuse you of not doing the readings. If you take his class, your grade will be based on how much he likes you, so participate A LOT!

Prof Dare is an extremely bright and knowledgeable instructor; specifically in regards to Journalism and Comm Law. He is not an easy "A" professor but he is very fair and challenges you to do your best. You will leave his courses with a gained wealth of knowledge.

TAKE any class he teaches!!Dare is so smart and once you get to know him very nice, you just have to show him respect.So many students are afraid of his class because he is a very tough grader..but go to his office hours for sure.As long as you don't attack him about it he wants to help you!!

I somehow found this page and felt compelled to write... I learned more from Prof. Dare in one meeting than most of my professors at Bradley combined. Simply put, I went to him and asked for help regarding my grades/work. He worked side by side with me, continued to assist me, and eventually showed me where hard work can you. It's true Dr. Dare's class is challenging, and if you are not a liberal be prepared to squirm in your seat alot bc he's very outspoken on his views, however if you take advantage of his office hours he's very helpful and get to know him, he's really a nice guy and funny too. I've gained a respect for him.

I was seraching for Dr Dare's Tuesday piece on the Nations Newspaper when I stumbled on this page. Dr Dare is a very tough and demanding professor, but it is always for your own good, especially if you are majoring in Journalism/Communication. There is no easy road to improving your writing skills; Dare will assist you to do it. He's a good guy.

I am not presently at Bradley. I just read some of the comments of Bradley students about Dr Dare. Many of them very true, many of them highly misplaced. Dr Dare is probably one of the most intelligent professor I ever had in School. He taught me News Writing, Editorials etc at the Uniiversity of Lagos between 1985-88. Today, I almost adore Him. I
