Comment:
Anthropology should be writing heavy, but she likes tests. If you're good at memorizing definitions you might be in good shape. The tests cover TOO MANY CHAPTERS (8 ch) Not effective. No one is gonna learn from that. She also likes to scare students. "Wow y'all should be scared- it's too late for you now" she says to the class. Smile & ignore her.

Dr. Frese loves her work. Instead of just reciting the textbook, she uses stories of her research. For her tests, all you have to do is memorize like 20 short answer question and you'll pass. Make sure you stay up on homework -- short answers on the test come directly from the homework and she occasionally gives pop quizzes.

Pam is a cultural anthropoligist who studied American Culture long before it was popular to do so. Her teaching methods engage students in the ethnographic subject matter as well as the theory behind studying the metadata of culture. I was well prepared for graduate school after working with Frese. I strongly recommend her classes!

If you want an easy A, take a class with Professor Frese. Although it may be easy, she tends to ramble incessantly, fails at incorporating the textbooks into class discussion, and class discussions in general feel like a waste of time. If you want and A and are patient take a class with her, but if you're not it's a struggle.

Frese changed my view of the world dramatically! She opened my eyes to a lot of different things that I would not have experienced otherwise. Her lectures are really informative, the books she chooses are interesting and relevant. She teaches right from the book, and her exams come straight from the review sheets. But she's an incredible woman!

You read the book. You answer questions. You memorize vocab. You ask questions and watch movies in class. She's good teacher, but goes straight from the book. She really makes you think twice about judging other cultures. If you have a bio background, you might have some issues with vocab and some theories, but its not hard to ignore.

She is an awesome professor. She keeps things interesting while still teaching. I've learned a lot so far and have still had fun, i only wish the class was longer than 50 minutes.

My most recent in a string of classes with Frese. As ever she is very clear, always helps the students, and makes tests easy if you actually read the assigned material. Will even give you the EXACT answer she is looking for if you ask during a review session.

Greatest professor ever! Frese basically gave me my major. I never imagined double majoring in Anthropology, but she was EXTREMELY helpful and fun. Her class keeps you interested and she gives you all the things you need to know for the class. The tests are easy, and the review sessions are gerat!

One of the craziest professors I have ever had. I had her for Magic, Witchcraft and Religion and it was the easiest class I have ever taken. She relies heavily on the book for tests, but doesn't do a very good job of going over it in class. Very knowledgeable but has a scattered and unorganized way of teaching.

Nice prof, full of interesting facts. Does a real bad job though transmitting the important information of book and it's RELEVANCE. She'll spit "interesting" information at you, like "did you know.." kind of thing that's fun but you forget in a minute. Book of course is clear, but she doesn't make her subject fascinating. VERY "high school" methods

she should never have been tenured. frese is everything that is wrong with cultural anthropologists...does not understand the meaning or importance of a four field approach in anthro. two-faced and unethical. she makes this dept look bad and that is hard to do.

Horrible professor. Nothing taught in class had any relevance in the book or on the exam. While it was an easy A I feel like going to class was a waste because what she did teach was not taught properly, never reviewed. She also has a very strong sense of herself which can get in the way of relationships with students. Can be rude.
