She is extremely thoughtful and puts time and effort into her lectures. She knows every student by name and she provides a study guide to help with the essay tests. She outlines her grading scale and how she grades very clearly. She tells you exactly what you need to get the grade you want.

She was a really good lecturer and even though she doesn't give a whole lot of things on her slides, you know exactly what to write. She give study guides that are close to her tests so if you thoroughly practice you know what her tests will be on.

Comment:
She does her best to make the class interesting. It's basically one long narrative with no outline of important points, so taking notes is difficult. She does provide study guides for exams, but they're essay exams so it's only semi-helpful. Weekly reading journals can make or break your grade. Very helpful when asked & not an overly tough grader.

Comment:
She does a great job of teaching the material. The material is boring, dry, and lacks enthusiasm. If you try to discuss opinions she will never agree or will dock points on exams. Weekly readings and journals, 3 exams, and a final large project which was a paper. This is history from 1900-1945, there are many interesting topics that aren't covered

Comment:
Pamela doesn't normally teach History 495 (capstone research project) but compared to other professors I've heard about, Pamela is one of the best. Throughout the semester, she has held us accountable for weekly journals that kept track of our progress during our projects, which made the process easier. Answered all my of questions when I had them.

Comments on papers can be very insulting and if your not a history major or grad student can make you feel as if she doesn't have the time to talk to you. Wouldn't take unless you have too!!

Great Teacher! There was no textbook but the material she handed out was easy to read and do assignments on. Essays were somewhat difficult, but if you pay attention in class you should have no problem

Easy assignments, easy tests, easy papers. Although if you are actually interested in history she does a mediocre job and often weighs insignificant things greater than important events. The TA usually did her 2 lectures in 15 minutes and more clearly. Class should be renamed U.S. History 1900-1945 with an emphasis on women's studies.

She is an awesome teacher, but her lack of notes makes it necessary to go to class. And sometimes it's hard to decide what to write down and keep up with her lectures since she has no outlines or anything.

Very interesting class, lecture was worth attending. Big paper and 8-page midterm/final, so be prepared. Other than the massive amounts of writing in a short period, the class was fun.

Comment:
Comments on returned paperwork were often insulting as if the student did not know how to write a paper, verbal directions on paperwork are often misleading or not explained well. However, she tends not to grade as hard as her comments would sometimes suggest. Lectures and book work tend not to be of much use but can come back on a take home test.

this woman is extremely Annoying, does a very poor job describing critical details in some Historical events, and chooses to preach about what she thinks is important.. typical ISU professor
