Seemingly impossible to get a 10/10 on the essays. She rarely will communicate with the class, and her class structure is pretty lazy. Her class is easy, but she is not very present for the students and I would not recommend her class as you do not learn much.

She is very strict. My draft that I later edited did not meet minimum requirements and I was not able to keep up and do the peer review so i sacrificed that grade to finish the final draft, big mistake, got a zero had to withdraw. She is very specific about was she wants done, I did not find it easy to find where she put for it on D2L however

If you want an easy A this is not the class for you. If you love to think, read and write, then take this class. This class was challenging and the material was great. The syllabus was very clear. You will write a lot which should be expected, it is a lit class. A good measure is for each question asked expect to write a full page answer.

I chose to skip a peer review for my last essay in her Shakespeare class because I thought the other reviews I received from my peers were mostly unhelpful. Bad idea.... I submitted my final essay and she refused to read it much less grade it. I told her I had it reviewed by somebody I trusted. She didn't care. Don't skip steps in her "process".

If you take the time to do all of the pre-writing paper work, and end up writing exactly as she wants. Im sure youd do just fine. You get full credit for the rough draft. But she will mark you down for every little error. Assignments and requirements were vague, and her grading was all over the place. Im sure she could be good, just not for me.

Paula is an extremely harsh grader do not expect to get an A in this class. Late work is not allowed, which is fair and she does give you ample time to complete the work. This semester she talked a lot about the amount of students doing bad and encouraged them to drop out instead of trying to help them which I thought was really disheartening.

Paula grades hard for an entry level composition course, and her deadlines are STRICT. For every essay you write, there are mandatory pre-writing and peer reviews, and if you don't turn these parts of your essay in on time, your final draft will receive a 0. No partial credit, no late work.

This professor is very strict when it comes to due dates. If you don't turn it in on time you won't get credit. If you turn in an assignment in the wrong format you won't get credit. All assignments must be turned in for you to get credit for essays. This is not an easy online class. Her grading is inconsistent. I would steer clear of this one.

This teacher is the worst. Do not take her!!!! She is the hardest grader I've ever come across. If you write the best essay in the world, you would still get a C. Her communication sucks and she will not listen to anything you say. You would be lucky to get a C in this class if you do everything right.

Her grading system is insane, and it's definitely not preparing me for anything but nights full of anxiety. You miss one thing, she fails you on the entire paper. You spend a lot more time preparing for the paper than the actual paper. Her grading times are insane too, the due times for the paper are really inconvenient and I'm pulling allnighters

I loved the content of the class and she was knowledgeable about it but she gives a lot of busy work for the sake of busy work. She makes you work for the grade for sure but some of the assignments were overkill and repetitive, didn't seem necessary.

I took Paula's freshman comp class as an online course and I regretted it instantly. She is the hardest and worse grader I have ever had. Even if you do the assignment exactly as she says, you will be lucky to get a B. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES. She is ruthless, and trying to communicate with her has no impact whatsoever.

This professor is absolutely the worst teacher I have had in my three years of college experience. She is not understanding and she is very inconsistent with her grading. She makes excuses for not getting papers back on time, but really it is because she is behind in her own work. Avoid this one like the plague.

Worst professor I have ever had! She gave me a terrible grade on an assignment. When I asked why, it took three separate emails back and forth for her to tell me, and she gave me the worst answer. She was not specific enough in the instructions. I can't read her mind! If you want something done exactly how you want it or you fail them, SAY IT.

I am surprised at all the bad reviews because this professor has been great to me! Sometimes instructions are unclear but when I email her with a question she gets back to me within in a day, at the longest two depending on when I send the email. Suck it up if you're complaining about having to ACTUALLY do the work. Of course you do.

Terrible teacher. Has a very unrealistic expectation of the level of understanding that a student will have about Shakespeare's works for the way that she teaches them. her level of "guidance" is throwing a book at you and telling you to have it read by the next class session where she will rant about how complex the text was.

This would've been one of the easier class I've take if, you know, she actually followed her own rubrics. The toughest grader I've ever seen, she seems to be making up her rules as she goes along. Save yourself the headache, do not take her classes

I took her online class and it was alright. As long as you turn in the assignments on time and read directions carefully, you should pass the class. Tough grader, but make sure you cite your sources on your essays or your grade will drop.

You will do perfectly fine in online freshman comp with Garland, as long as you don't miss due dates! I missed the dropbox due date by a few hours and she refused to give me points for an essay. She would not compromise. I had an A, it dropped to a C. The assignments are easy. Make sure to read her course policies! She is strict about them.
