Comment:
This class was not at all what I expected it to be. The readings were not at all related to the material covered in class. However, it appeared on the test with the expectations that you should understand it at a deep level. His lectures were not coherent, and he could not give concrete definitions for terms on the test. Worst teacher at UGA.

This class and Brosius are awesome. He is super cool and experienced, but he hardly follows the powerpoint. Lecture is sometimes all over the place, reading is insane, and tests are very hard, but it's worth it if you like Anthropology. Loved every class, learned a ton, and had great discussions.

Everything was straight forward but you have to do the reading, ,especially the online reading. Overall the class was fun and we had great debates about various global issues. Prof. Brosius definitely knows his stuff and enjoys teaching. An A is definitely possible with a little extra effort.

Brosius is a genius. He is the sort of teacher that I have been waiting for for my entire college career. He is current, aware of the global situation, and has done inspiring field research. If you are interested in learning, as opposed to just getting a peice of paper with your name on it, take Dr. Brosius.

Dr. Brosius is an excellent teacher. His class is quite difficult, but if you attend class, do your reading, and study then an A is probably quite doable. I made it all but 3 or 4 classes and I got a c+ while doing the reading, but I didn't study efficiently. He is passionate about his subject and an inspiring teacher.

I could barely understand a full sentence he said. He is jumpy, talks extremely fast, and I would prescribe ADHD medication for him. TONS of reading. EXTREMELY detailed tests. I don't stop writing in class. I feel like I always miss things because of how fast he talks. Impossible to get in touch with out of class. Do not take this class.

This class was basically a "who's who" of Cultural Anth- difficult and time consuming, but not impossible. Unfortunately, Brosius could only make it to about 40% of the lectures while making attendance for us mandatory. Videos and TA's were no substitute for actual teaching. I was very disappointed.

This class was completely lecture format and covered a lot of material. He obviously loves it and does a good job explaining it. If you keep up with class notes and do a little of the reading you should be able to make an A- on the test, to get an A you'll have to make sure you know all the readings very well. Overall I loved this class.

Dr. Brosius is an awesome proffesor and very interested and informed about what he teaches. However, this class is challenging because of the bulk of material covered and the depth of the concepts. If you attend class, do all of the readings, and do not procastrinate, you can make an A. Anyone who loves anthropology and is interested in theory shou

Everyone hated this class. The subject was boring but informative as long as you didn't pay any attention to the professor--all he does is ramble about things not on the test. I could have learned a lot more had another anth professor taught the course.

Do not take the class. Not only did he not help but his lectures ran the whole time about information that was not on the test and talk about nothing. His tests are awful and completly horrible and he does not return grades on time, and lies about curving the tests. With the curve that he promised the class i should have got a B. I am appealing.

Interesting, but requires a LOT of reading for his tests. Tried really hard but still got a B. Lots of memorization and very very detail oriented. I read all the texts and reviewed all my notes and still found things on the tests I had never heard of!
