Horrible! the class was so horrible. she always came in late and wasted class time on collage demos for a drawing class. i could have learned more from a elementary school teacher, actually i did!

Mira is compassionate and genuinely cares that her students get a good foundation in painting technique. she puts a lot of emphasis on painting from life, but appreciates and encourages conceptual art and depth in students' work. she can be blunt, but said things i needed to hear in order to progress.

The worst teacher possible for this dept, if it wasn't for her graduate students helping her out she would fail, and fail hard! Thinks everyone is rebelling against her, but in actuality they just don't understand her. She is Judgmental, plays favorites, and is stuck in tangential philosophical BS! My undergrad money would be better spent elsewhere

Mira is a sweetheart. She really cares about her students and is great at giving individual feedback. Her ability to bring out the best work in a young artist is phenomenal. If she has a flaw it would be that she can be a bit dominant, but she recognizes it in herself.

Absolutely the worst teacher in the Art Department! I have moved on and I still have nightmares about her and her attitude. Do not take this class! You will regret it when she ruins your year! she is not organized, is only out for herself and should not teach, if you want to be a serious painter, don't let her be your mentor!

Great teacher. This is my second class with her. Works hard to make sure we are getting a solid base of technical skills while we develop our concepts. Doesn't box you in once she knows you can find your way around a canvas or a sketchbook. She's a good artist too and that means a lot. Rock on! Take her class.

I had issues with her. Never said anything, however I found her to be not to the level to be able to teach art. I agree that she was passionate about art, however I feel personally that she enjoyed being an "artist" more so than teaching people. ETSU deserves better than Mira. Good person, poor artist/teacher. My opinion.

Mira actually knows what she is talking about and cares enough to take the time to work with each person. She's passionate about painting and wants everyone to find their own voice. I learned SO MUCH in her class. I totally disagree with all the rants-- the immaturity factor about those comments says it all!

Never before have I expierenced a more horrible teacher. ALWAYS late, and then what must I and the rest of the class endure? Her stopping class to make everyone listen to her banal rambling about her personal life. I really dont care. I was there to learn to paint and i couldnt.- Horrible teacher. Dont take her classes, youll be happy you didnt.

CRAZY! This teacher is all over the place. Came in 2.5 hours late and then took role. People had left by then! No structure to the class at all. We spent a whole class (3hours) talking about childhood memories. Who cares? I just wanted to paint. Horrible time management skills. Never had enough time to talk to everyone. Often got shafted.

Has a bad habit of cramming a lot of work in a short period of time. Some students manage by doing very small paintings all semester, which is one area she needs to speak up in. There should be some assignments where everyone does the same amount of work, then we will see who says what during critique.
