Comment:
Pozefsky is an awesome teacher. He has hilarious stories. Ask him about the 90s. Pozefsky is really knowledgeable about Russian history. He does hold you accountable for the readings but they are generally pretty interesting. But seriously ask him about living in Russia in the 90s... the stories are great.

Pozefsky may have a lower rating on this site, but that can likely be attributed to the way he holds students accountable for readings and in class work. I find him an organized professor, and gives particularly good advice for writing.

I have him for intro to GH & it's currently my hardest class with more reading and writing than my FYS and my W course. However, his couse is also my most rewarding class, as I have already been able to sharpen my note-taking and writing skills considerably. He's a cool guy who cares about giving a well rounded perspective on what he teaches.

I'm biased because I'm profoundly interested in Russia, but his Fall of the USSRRise of New Russia course was very interesting. He has a deep understanding of contemporary Russia, and draws on both his vast knowledge of Russia and on his personal experiences in the USSR and Russia in the 90s to present a very interesting perspective on the topic

I thought Intro to Global History would be a really fun class - it is most definitely not! The textbooks are excellent but Pozefsky is never prepared for class, and makes no effort to make class interesting. His instructions on paper writing are vague and unhelpful.

I was in his Introduction to Global History class, and I have to say... I sure got myself into a pickle. It was the most boring college course I've taken yet, and Pozefsky did not really seem interested in what he was teaching. In fact, at the beginning of the year he told us this wasn't his thing, but he got stud with it. Note taking is worthless.

Russia since 1900. I didn't have any problems with his grading of the writing, actually. We didn't have any of the 'talking point papers' described in the syllabus though, either. Don't let the study guide intimidate you for the exam.

Great professor if you are interested in the topic...he can really help you improve your writing skills...review his comments after he has graded your paper...if you improve on the next one...he will notice and improve your grade.

A professor who wields a thoughtful meat-axe towards undergraduate writing. I'm not saying I agree with every last comment on my papers, but I definitely became a better writer. I like the guy a heck of a lot, but I can see that his understated style is not for everyone. A very serious person.

Nice enough guy, just seemed like he always had something better to do then teach class. We went around the room and read out of book, thanks peter. Also he didn't read papers, at least he was honest about it, told me he only read the intro paragraph.

I took his class by accident Freshmen year and it was awesome. He took Russian History and made it awesome. He's rough on grading papers, but you'll learn a lot. I took another Russian History class just because I wanted another class with him. One of the best Hist. Profs at Wooster.

I took some of the best notes of my 4 years of college in his class. His classes are full of information and he expects a lot of work from his students. He says funny things without meaning to and has developed quite a little cult following on campus. I loved his classes!

hard to talk to & unclear about assignments. classes aren't too bad though, given the inherant nature of the topic (russian history... very boring)
