A fair professor. She leaves extensive feedback on every assignment that is turned in. The reading requirement is typical for an upper division course. There are weekly group discussions / prompts that require about a one page response, so expect to expend some effort. It is easy to do well in the class if you closely abide by the syllabus.

The instructor for this course was extremely attentive and she did her part very well. I have nothing but respect for her, however, I felt very strongly that this course was much more challenging than it needed to be. Extremely time consuming and very difficult grading.

I love history and she made an interesting subject boring. She just lectures the whole time and her English is terrible. We even correct her English in her power-points while we go through it for her. The class is completely uninterested from the lesson. Sometimes you can't even get what she is trying to teach us because her English is terrible.

Ping Chao can be hard to understand at first, but with a little time her accent (chinese) is understandable. Very good teacher. Good knowledge and a fun class. And I learned some Chinese. :)

I enjoyed this professor very much. She understands that the language barrier can be difficult so ensures the students that they can ask to clarify. She is one of the few hist. profs who knows Eastern history so well. She is from there after all.
