I loved his lectures and the real life examples he used to help us better understand the content. But when it comes to preparing for the tests and for speeches, you really have to take a little bit of time to review and put some work in. When stuff comes up though he's very understanding you just have to talk to him.

Uses a lot of PowerPoint's. Gives reviews but his reviews have nothing to do with test. He gets off subject fast. Its called intro to theater but should be history of theater he's way to serious about the course. Very boring and hard would not recommend.

He grades ridiculously hard. Wants details on essay questions, but only details he thinks are relevant (so prepare to read his mind). It's a required elective, but he takes it way too seriously. Should be called the "history of theatre", not intro to theatre. ZERO FUN. Tests are his wording and hard to understand. Also agree, he's obsessed w/ sex!

He does nothing but lectures so that wasn't bad he seems cool at times. You don't have to make outlines or anything like other speech classes I've heard of. He grades kinda tough on how you present it though. I made B's on them. The only thing that hurt my grade was his midterm and final! A lot of memorization.

Not what I expected for an intro to theatre class. His lectures all come from powerpoints, and if you want those notes, go to class, if you don't no big deal. You can read the book and try to memorize chapters for the tests which is where he pulls from. All tests were ridiculously hard except for the final which was easy.

I agree with the comment about Hodde being inconsistent. Some people would not even meet the requirements & earn a B. Others would have very good speeches, requirements met and they were given the same grade. Fellow students complained about the unfair grading!! Suggestion:sit in the very front row idk why but they got better grades??

I enjoyed being in his class. the class itself was easy to just sit there and listen to him talk for 50 min. He mostly used powerpoints so it was easy to take notes as long as you wrote at a good pace. When it came to tests tho you really have to study from the book and not just notes. He related the coursework to life stories he had which was fun.

The grading for this class is inconsistent to say the least. In this college course your grade is completely dependent on Mr. Hodde's opinion. Hard work a study is not reflected in you GPA. He speaks very fast and it is very hard to take adequate notes. He may be a victim of adult ADHD and an inflated ego.

Professor Hodde is a neat guy. He is very laid back, talks to students with a tone of equality, and has a sense of humor. If you take his interpersonal communication class you will probably hear a lot of stories about his life. His grading is fair, and he is willing to listen if he made a mistake. This class was an easy A for me, and fun too!
