Incredibly intelligent individual, basically revived the topic of Molecular Simulation. That being said, the class material was very basic. The HW was the best option to learn some of the technical concepts of the course. There was a midterm and a final both are 100 true/false. It is easy but does not prep you for the next semester material well.

There's nothing that should scare you away from this professor. At least for programming with MATLAB, he explained everything well, and was very clear about what we needed to know. It's not a very exciting lecture, but how do you make programming exciting? Quizzes are all true false and the recitations can be done with others. Would recommend.

Lustig is a fine professor. Might be intimidating at first. Spends days in class on "recitations" helping students with great T.A's as well. Requires reading the textbook for you to work most efficiently. As long as you can finish a working program you'll get an A. You can work with friends too (not on quizzes or written exams).

Makes learning to program very easy. Step by step, you learn the basics. His TA was also veeeery lenient, so it wasn't him grading. Nonetheless, quizzes and recitations are a breeze, if you do the work at home and even crack the book.

Took the pace of the class way down, and made things easy for us to understand. Answers all questions and is fairly helpful. I'd take more classes from him if this is how he teaches all his courses.

He told us not to use the book when the book was easier to understand then he was. He also had these computer programs as a part of the class which no one understood. He was disappointed when the average was an 80% on a test it should of been 72%. Also he does not grade fair.

I think he did the best he could teaching the class. Its a dull one. He really tried to take our comments on the class seriously. I thought I knew what I was doing until I got to the test. They were completely out there.
