Rosemarie Burwell changed my life. I had been kicked out of one University already. By her standards and now mine, I was illiterate. She always had time for me during her office hours and I was always there. I took two more courses from her. I went on to get my MBA at UC Davis. Because of Dr. Burwell's high standards, I got a great education.

I had Dr. Burwell way back in the early 80's. I'll never forget her. She was probably the most difficult professor I have ever had. But because of her, I am a published writer. I learned to make the same point in two sentences, instead of a long paragraph. Work with her, and she will work with ou, and you'll be all the better for it.

I had this teacher a few years ago. Everything she taught me I still remember and use. She is irreplaceable. She cares that you learn, she's not trying to be your best friend, but a good teacher, and she succeeds.

If you appreciate class being cancelled once a week and listening to an entire class period lecture that has no relevance to the classwork then this is the lady for you. No tests was a plus, basically a independent study with a crazy woman up front looking for her medication.

No tests, you are only graded by papers. So it's easier on you if you do well with papers but are a bad test taker. I had to work hard to do well in her classes, but I am not an English major (special ed with English as my endorsement). Generally boring.

She's the most UNprofessional professor ever! She was rude by singling out students, yelling at them, threatening them, calling them unfit students, attacking how their parents raised them. What's worse, she grades VERY unfairly. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!

this teacher makes a lot of mistakes, is unfair in terms of grading, just lectures on aspects of the novel that are of interest only to her, which makes her long-winded and boring. The only good thing I can say about her is that she cancels class a lot.
