Should not be teaching. His lectures are incredibly hard to follow as he is all over the place. Videos are sometimes interesting and a break from his excessive rambling. Readings have nothing to do with the course itself. The class average for the first quiz was 37% and I think that speaks for itself. He's awful.

Comment:

One of the worst professors I've had. He gives out a quiz and 2 tests. There's also a 10 page paper. He goes off topic and expects you to know random stuff he mentions in class. The tests are all confusing. you never know what's going to be on it- your expected to know everything. If you try to argue an answer you got wrong, he wont even listen

He simply should not be teaching anymore. He assigns over 100 pgs of reading from books that date back to the 1960s. This was the most boring class I have taken by far. He includes random information that he talks about in class on his tests. He taught whatever he felt like teaching. He went off on tangents about nothing for a half hr at a time

Honestly if you know anything about biology don't hesitate to take him. His tests are extremely easy and you don't need to read the books he assigns to do well as he reviews all important topics in class. Just go and pay attention and it's an easy grade.

I attended this college for my undergraduate degree in Biology. I just wanted to say that Prof. Arndt was the best teacher I had there, hands down. He wasn't the easiest and I did not get all A's, but I learned more from him than any other teacher I had. He was also the most involved with his students and helped me with independent studies.

I don't usually rate professors but I feel I should given the other comments. He is a very nice guy and expects students to work. Tests are all true/false which was annoying but if you read and listen you should be fine. My class watched a movie each class. Give him a chance and be nice!

Terrible. I was so excited for this class. He was off topic and rude as well as creepy. His notes were all over the place and every exam was true false. Worse class ever. The readings were outdated and completely unrelated. I have never been so disappointed in a class. Never again will i take him for a class.

Rudy's lectures jump all over, your notes are impossible to follow at the end of the day. Assigned 6 books for a class that only meets once a week. Talks only about what he likes, and believe me you can only listen to a lecture on birds so many times.

I took Extinct and Threatened life because I am really interested in that part of science. I love this class. He talks and talks but as long as you take notes and watch the movies you will do fine in the class. He will give you points on exams if you argue your point. Overall, do the reading, take notes, and go to class and you will fine.

I went into Extinct and Threatened Life very curious and genuinely interested.. but I was beyond disappointed. He talks and talks and talks about any given tangent, assigns a term paper without any real specifications. Just plain confusing! Test questions are biased. He knows what he's talking about but doesn't know how to teach it.

Rudy was one of my favorite professors. He really took me under his wing, and I have stayed in contact with him. He's a great guy! Unfortunately, he gets way too many lazy unmotivated students who do not do what they are supposed to do. If you are serious about learning, take Rudy. If you want to get a C and get out of the course as easy as possible, take an adjunct.
