An amazing scholar! I took a couple classes from him about 30 years ago...and still think over some of the things he said. And he was great about stopping and talking to students in the halls, in bars, wherever he was. I learned more from him in a few ****en talks in the old Scrappy's than in many of my other courses at UTC!

Horrible teacher!! i had a 4.0 in highschool and took this class and barely passed. i studied for over 8 hours for the first test and made a D. i came out of the class with a D. he comes late to class and keeps talking overtime. hard to hear and mumbles a lot. if you want to keep your hope scholarship, DONT TAKE LINNEMAN!

The worst teacher I have ever had. I went into this class wanting to learn about World History and I got Linneman's opinion on politics and religion. Very biased, unprofessional, always late, can't hear or understand him, extremely boring, and not organized. Finally, he is a horrible grader. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

I studied under Dr Linneman 30 years ago and ultimately took 4 classes from him. I found him hard, but fair. He challenged me to think for myself and I worked hard in his classes. I made As in all of his classes, but I studied harder for those As than any other I earned. If you want to study history, can't find 'em better than Russell.

Linnemann, a very good professor if you want to learn. Not why you want to take if you just want the grade. The books he gives are good reads but he doesn't use them much. Out of about 25 or so people in my class I was 1 of 3 to get a C. Despite getting a C it was the best class I've had in college.

For our classes 2nd test, 25 people took it. Only 10 passed the test. They passed with D's! That is 15 F's. AVOID this class. Even the history major people taking the class are failing. Hard grader. I do however enjoy his lectures. He seems nice enough. Cusses alot.

HORRIBLE! If your test essays aren't as good as an Ivy League doctoral dissertation, prepare to get no higher than a C. Unless you're being held at gunpoint and the assailant says that you can live only if you take Linnemann's class, AVOID HIM. And even then, a quick death is better than the slow one you'll endure in History According to Linnemann

He's always late and you can't understand half of what he says because he talks very, very quietly. He has strong opinions on politics and government and spends more time talking about that than the course material. If you went to a private school, you're automatically a right-wing Republican idiot. Don't take his class if you like George Bush... you'll just leave feeling angry. And he grades extremely hard on tests. Avoid him.

he's a slow talker and a low talker and he's always 5-10 minutes late. His exam questions are insanely put together and he's got an angry personality. Who the heck said he was hot? That just wrong.

Dr. Linnemann is a wonderful person and good professor. He is very intelligent, but be warned his class is very difficult. You have to work very hard just to get a "B". Read the assigned materials because sometimes he gets off track. Do not take this class if you are a conservative republican. Linnemann is a Liberal and thats why i like him!
