You will work in Dr. Chang's class, but if you do, you will leave better for it. She is one of the few professors who will invest as much time in your betterment as you are willing to invest in yourself.

She's a brilliant professor. The material is difficult and if you aren't scared off by the first class to drop, expect to work hard. Even though the material is tricky, she takes the time to make sure everyone is on the same page and understands it. She's also very approachable and willing to help you out if you talk to her. Don't fall behind.

I had her for the Advanced Sophomore Seminar. She has high standards, but only as a means for inviting students to exceed them. I got an A+, but i put in over 200 hours on my final aper and read over 15 books just to write it. If you're looking to get published, take Dr. Chang - she is incredibly sharp and very open to all sorts of ideas

She's pretty clear, but the subject matter and readings for this class were boring beyond belief. Scares you so you work hard. Uses profanity and sexual slang liberally. Grade is based on two essay exams, a paper, and presentation. I put in a lot of effort to earn my grade, but at a cost to other courses. In retrospect, it wasn't worth it.

An excellent and well-versed professor, to be sure. The material for an intro class is very tough though, and it is also a lot of work. Still, I learned a great deal and I would consider taking a class by her again. Her illnesses during this semester really took away from the overall quality of the course though since so many lectures were missed.

Poorly organized course; syllabus changed nearly every week, professor cancelled lecture twice due to her illness, lecture notes hardly finished during class, did not start or end lecture on time, many technical difficulties with microphone added to distractions.

The class is kind of hard but she's cool as hell. Her examples are funny and she really makes you think. The downside is that your readings are hard and her exams and papers are a ****. Better be studying or you'll get burned in her class.

Professor Chang is one of the most intelligent professors I've ever had...and she makes the very difficult course information interesting. Just be warned it is not an easy class but if you're up for it, it's well worth it, you'll learn a ton. Two difficult exams and two papers. Take GOOD notes.

professor definitely knows what she is talking about and explains difficult material very clearly. not an easy A but not impossible with the huge curve. overall though i HATE this class with a passion. i just don't enjoy the material but its not the professors fault. i'm still doing well in it. i just don't like it. i wouldnt recommend this class.

This is a class for people who are going to work hard. Chang does not mess around. You learn alot but it is not easy. Her exams will rock your world. A lot of time has to go into studying and doing the reading. This class is what a philosophy class is suppose to be like. The highest grade on the midterm was a 93 and there is no curve.

The first two lectures were impossible and didn't make any sense, I wanted to drop, but, by mid-semester you get the hang of it, and it's an absolutely great class, and she's a great professor, can be challenging at times, but definitely well worth it.

The best way to describe Mrs. Chang is dynamic. Picture a philosophy teacher and she fits right in. She's extremely bright; she is one of the smartest people I have ever met. She teaches very clearly and the set-up of the class is great, but it isn't an easy A, so expect to work. A great teacher!
