Incredibly helpful and fun, though can be easy to sidetrack. Always willing to talk after class with anyone who wants to. The language itself is difficult for most people, but he presents it with plenty of review. I felt the class moved a bit too slowly, but that's just me. If you're willing to devote time outside class to study, no one's better!

I loved this guy. Extremely nice, funny, wants to help and make sure you understand. The lang is a little difficult to begin with but he does a great job explaining it. Missed a lot of classes and still got an A. This guy is awesome.

I got an A in the class. He goes over the concept thoroughly. Some people found the course difficult, but I think that's just the language itself. Just make sure you know what you're getting into before you take the course. If you have an interest in it, pay attention and study and you'll do fine.

He can be demanding at times, but overall easy professor. You will learn the Japanese, as well as funny stories of his life...cough cough his inu (dog). It is very easy to get him off subject if you want to avoid taking a quiz.

Ohtaka Sensei is a caring teacher who will go over tough concepts until all students understand them. Quizzes were based on the work of the week before, so study and you will do fine. He will throughly go over material for the midterm and final.
