Comment:

Excellent prof. Caring, knowledgeable, clear and concise lectures with good examples. Challenging assignments and exams, but if you study, read, and ask questions, you can make an A. This is a senior level course. If you're really struggling with the programs, maybe reevaluate your major or dedicate more time. Put in effort and you'll pass.

Comment:

Professor Hall is the worst professor I've ever seen in my academic life. Don't ever take her class if you want to learn. She gives very little detail on her lecture. She has quiz every week. She is a tough grader. She will take off points anywhere she can. Read the book and study the worksheets that she passes out.

Comment:

Very Poor teaching skills. She doesn't know how to teach to be honest. She goes over slides really quick and expects you to memorize every single thing in the notebook. Her tests weight heavily on theory questions and definitions. Her programming assignment is ridiculously hard. I took this class because it was a core, otherwise, no chance.

She cares about her students. I found the homework little bit harder. Teaching pace was fast, so try not to miss any class. There will be a project at the end of the semester. You will be provided an option to do a presentation in front of larger or smaller groups which I think was very considerate of her

Not a tough class or professor if you do your work. Very sweet lady that I believe cares about students and is supportive of their education; I wasn't even much of a participator in class, but she will still stop and ask how I'm doing if I run into her. (p.s. Don't buy the book :-) )

Extremely nice lady but she didn't seem to know what she was talking about sometimes. All the homework assignments come from the book and she didn't do them before she assigned them so there was often a lot of confusion when they were due. Not a difficult class but very very unorganized and unprepared.

Fairly quick pace, very knowledgeable about older technology, as that what she studied. Programs are somewhat bland, and are far more difficult to code than to understand using C in an old version of Solaris. Has an interesting grading curve, but it only helps, it can't hurt you.

Hall's uninspired programming assignments have a low value/time ratio (won't learn much for time spent). Exams are needlessly time-consuming. Grades are not an accurate measure of what student has learned from class. This is another teacher that is out of touch with the needs of the students.

Well! She doesn't know what she is teaching..Bad! but she makes you read the text books... Good! if you are after grades only, then just come on time to class and do the homework. oh by the way, in OS class.. WRITE WRITE and WRITE... fill up exams paper with text and graphes... easy to get A but don't expect to learn straight from her.

Enthusiastic, helpful instructor who insisted troubled students stay after class for help. Class structure might scare students into dropping, since class was tougher than necessary. Expect a few quizzes and easy homework. Exams had short answer, essay, and a few problems. Same course objectives can be taught using a language other than UNIX C.

I took her in an elective. It was a new class but a REALLY enjoyed it. Finally got a chance to talk about the things that I enjoyed and she welcomed open discussions. Wish I would have taken this class first, instead of my final semester here.
