Dr. Sewell is a very nice professor and really is passionate about American history! The tests are online if you go on Moodlerooms, which is helpful. HOWEVER, be sure to study all your notes and read the textbook if you are to pass her tests. Other than that, I really like her alot!

Comment:
American Women's History Honors. This class was very discussion based so you need to definitely do the readings she assigns. It was interesting but i could've gotten more out of it if taught a different way other than discussion based. No tests. But has papers which are about 3-4 pages long and about two presentations which are fairly easy.

Full of knowledge and always willing to help. She does demand a lot, but nothing unreasonable. Read the book, listen in class, ask questions, and become part of the class discussion. Be as engaged in the lesson as possible. I always found her discussions to be very interesting.

I hate social studies and any subjects related to it, but I thought she was a pretty good teacher. I was able to tolerate this class more so than I have tolerated other classes with the same subject matter.

These ratings are rediculous. Her courses contain a lot of work and you have to do it if you want the A. How typical that people who get bad grades blame the teacher's grading systems. Dr Sewell is a great teacher, I learned more from her in one semester than all my other history teachers combined.

Dr. Sewell is one of those professors whos classes have very interesting titles, but end up being bore-fests. She never gives above a C unless you reinvent the wheel. I really wanted to like her, but he teaching style is horrible. Too much emphasis on primary documents, too. Beware of rolepalying.

She's ridiculous-if you brown-nose her then you'll get an A if she decides not to like you then you get a bad grade even if you deserve a good one. Her grading system is pitiful-someone give her a rubric so she can be fair! It was a pitiful experience

Dr. Sewell is one of the worst teachers at STAC. She does not know how to grade papers and gives A papers a C grade. She does not teach relevant information during her lectures and tells the class that she never gives A's (even if you deserve it).

I think Professor Sewell is one of the nicest and coolest professor of the History department in Saint Thomas Aquinas College. She is truly neat running the History Club at STAC too.
