More work than grad school. 600 page readings weekly. Weekly Quiz answers are rediculously similar and impossible to ace. Weekly Discussion criteria impossible to meet. Grades harder than any professor I've seen. 200 level class harder than grad level classes. Run far away from this class. He sucks the fun from an interesting class

Really fun class! Stas is great, he tells stories and most of his lectures are really interesting. He's a Russian punk rocker with a star of David tattoo around his elbow--awesome.

He was a really great professor- as long as you go to class and take notes, his tests are so easy...not a hard grader and is a nice guy overall- helpful if you go to office hours and is simpathetic about grading

This class is cool, but I thought it would be better. Classes are hit or miss by each day. Either it is really interesting or it is just plain boring. Stas is good at what he does, but likes to put down socialogy majors which is kind of disheartening even though i am not one.

Anyone who knows punk rock knows this guy is a poseur. He's prestentious as well as arrogant. Makes many generalized statements. Furthermore, his multiple choice tests don't test you on the material but on your sociological background.

I have had Stas for 4 different classes unintentionally but have learned a considerable amount from all.(Soc Theory,Problems,Psychology and Violence)He is good at mixing his material with personal stories and tries to make it as interesting as he can but does not accomplish his goal all of the time.
