Very knowledgeable on the topic-I learned a lot about the criminal justice field that was shocking. Everyone came nearly every day. I have ADHD & I greatly appreciated that all electronics (including laptops) were banned from her classroom, and 5 min break was allowed mid-lecture. She can get preachy, & it was hard to know what to study for

Yeah, she's great. Some of my favorite lectures in college. There is NO technology so don't expect to do other stuff during class, but the lectures are interesting enough that that's not a bad thing. Tests are EASY if you go to the reviews (during the class period before). I studied for maybe an hour before each test and was totally fine. Fav class

She is super funny and knows her stuff. She has her slides ready for you to take notes from. She does do things in class that come up on the tests so you want to make sure to be in class. She gives you readings she'll put online for Psych 383 instead of having to get a textbook. The class before the test she does a review that helps a ton!

Great class. Felt like it was more of a criminal justice class, But she definatly explained how psychology came into play. Great class!

Class is interesting, there is no textbook required, but that means you HAVE to go to lectures, if you don't you WILL NOT pass. Assigns about 8 short reading assignments for the entire semester. Exam Reviews are VERY specific, participate in them and study and you will do fine

My favorite teacher at Iowa State. The material is interesting and she teaches it well. Attending class is necessary to get a good grade. A few questions on the exams will be from things she ONLY mentioned in class. She also gives in-class extra credit "assignments" which are not graded and only used to check attendance. Love her and this class!

The most interesting lecturer I've had at Iowa State. She clearly knows her stuff and is passionate about teaching. She's very clear on tests, but will throw 1 or 2 questions in from 20-40 pages of reading. If you attend class she will highlight whats important and the tests will be challenging but not overly difficult. You need to go to class.

Going into this class I was nervous, but she is a GREAT professor! She knows what she's teaching and she gives insight on almost everything she teaches. I have had no problems on any of her tests, even though I have heard they are hard. I really enjoy attending this class!

Dr. Madon is a great professor! She makes class by applying real life case studies. You have to read the book because half of what's on the test is based off of it. Lecture's are a breeze! Careful, when there is short attendance she gives out random quizzes for points that can either help or hurt your grade! Overall, GREAT CLASS!!

Dr. Madon is wonderful. She's very funny and makes lectures very interesting. She definitely knows how to structure a 3 hour class. Tests are pretty tough if you don't follow her study guides. If you use the study guide, you will be more than prepared for the exams. There are no surprises on her tests. She grades on a curve, too.

Excellent and funny instructor, but I don't think she is mentally stable. When you catch her in an "off moment" you get the impression that she could snap at any second.

One of the best professors that I have had. I couldn't even imagine having a 3 hour class with someone else. She makes it very interesting and keeps your attention. She is also very nice and open minded, and includes lots of discussion in her lectures.I wish she taught more than just 280 and 380. Great Teacher!

She has a nice personality and her lectures are fun and amusing, but if you want to feel like you actually learned something, you probably shouldn't take this class. She's good at making it fun, but I always felt like I left feeling like I wasted my time.

I had psych 280 and 380 with her. She has hard tests but is really fun in class. She is kind of quirky which makes it interesting. You defantly have to read the book to get an A on the test though which would be the only down fall.

Very interesting and entertaining lectures. The class is 3 hours long, but she always finishes early and has a break too. Her tests are a bit hard, but she gives lots of extra credit. Google "list of best ISU professors", she's in it.

Her teaching is very clear but I found her to be overly descriptive, which got tedious and the things she taught got repetitive considering we rediscussed earlier experiments that were already crystal clear. Not a bad teacher but I was felt like a lot of time was wasted due to these tendencies.

Lectures are extremely interesting and entertaining, and she is a great professor. I did find the exam questions to be a bit confusing, and several questions came from the very long textbook chapters that weren't covered in class. However she gives about 10 points extra credit and easy group quizzes, which definitely help. Overall, great class.

A good instructor. Makes a lot of the concepts understandable in a class that isn't easy. If you read the book, and attend lecture you should get a decent grade.
