Comment:

Miyazaki teaches a few classes that you'd have to take for CS requirements. He's a nice person but he doesn't seem that interested in what he is teaching, which sometimes makes me bored with CS. His hw is hard but his exams and quizzes are a lot easier. He's a reasonable grader. Review class notes and his recommended review exercises before exams.

Granted this is just for 115, I don't know about upper level, but wasn't a fan. I'd taken JavaScript in HS and done some Python, so it was cake. I didn't like having to teach my lab partner most weeks and grading was kinda nitpicky. But most people who didn't have CS experience was 100% lost, and I'd have been lost too if I didn't already know it.

His lectures are very well organized, you can rely on your notes for the exams, I referred very little to the textbooks in all of his class. His jokes are kinda lame but at the same time very hilarious (in a geeky way). Homework prepares you well for the exam. Very candid and sincere person. My favorite profess at Trin. I've only said this once.

Taku's kinda goofy. He assigns regular problem sets and projects and grades them really tough, but when it comes to grading his impossible exams, he eases up quite a bit. All in all, one of the better professors in the department. Do the work and don't worry about your grades - they'll work out.

Great teacher ! Taku is the man. I'd go to class just to hear him speak sometimes. Very clear, very fair, and will help you out when you need it. Tests can be a suprise sometimes, but are fair.
