Had him for history of jazz, easy double dipper. Smart and funny guy with actual experience in jazz. Knows what he's talking about. Had a couple listening quizzes, 2 exams, and 2 papers to write. Lectures during class, but you only need to know the answers to the exam review sheets (which are exactly like the tests). Watch videos during class a lot

Great Guy! Really wants you to succeed in the class. Only gives a midterm and final and he basically will give you all the answers as long as you pay attention in class and study. Also know your songs for the listening portions of exams.

This is the easiest A I have EVER received. 100% take this professor! There is so little work, all you have to do is show up and listen to jazz for awhile. No class participation required. He's so nice and straightforward. Cancels class a lot. Best professor I've ever had. Shows videos almost every Friday because he knows kids are hungover.

The class is a core double dipper, and the easiest one I've taken. 3 short papers which are pretty much 100's just for doing them, then 2 worksheets which literally give you the answers to his 2 tests. Class can be a drag but he's a fun guy, obviously knows his jazz.

Two tests, two performance reviews, and like two other homework assignments is it for the semester. Other than that, you just listen to music and lecture. A bit boring but you learn alot and it is SO easy. If you're looking for an easy A and a double dipper, this class is perfect. He's really easy going; he has the time of his life teaching jazz.

one of the easiest classes i have ever taken. atherton is such a great professor, as long as you take some notes here or there and pay attention a little you'll get an a.. i got a 100 on the midterm and final. the only complaint i have about him is he blasts his music too high for his tiny voice, he's not loud enough haha. but overall; he's great.

Great teacher! He will give you an A if you don?t miss any classes and study for 2 exams. All you do is listen to jazz music and videos, it is an interesting course and I think anyone would pass it. Teacher is awesome, don?t take it with anyone else.
