Comment:

I was a CS grad at TCU. I had several classes with him and I believe he means well, but I concur with most of the other postings. He gets off topic too frequently and is ill-prepared for class. Various exams had mistakes discovered by students and on one occasion he forgot we had an exam scheduled and made one up on the markerboard on the fly.

A very poor professor. He does not appear to be prepared for any of his classes, and most lectures only last 5 minutes before he gets off topic and rants about something irrelevant for the next hour. You will not learn hardly anything from this professor, you will HAVE to teach yourself. Lastly, the lab assignments are not clear at all.

Comment:

Disasters and Failures is a very easy class. I never really studied and came out with and A in the class. He is a very nice man just not always prepared for class. The labs are super easy so you must attend those. Drops lowest lab and lowest quiz. Final Exam is a piece of cake.

Dr. Nute never teaches anything that isn't already in the powerpoint notes. If you don't mind teaching yourself EVERYTHING, then go for it. Over half the class just shows up for the quizzes and leave afterwards. He doesn't seem to put much effort into the class and puts a pretty generous curve on every quiz, though.

I majored in CompSci at TCU. Dr. Nute is pretty is a pretty interesting guy. Unfortunately he does not prepare for his classes or teach you anything meaningful. Prepare to teach yourself everything on your own if you have one of classes - I would avoid him and Dr. Hannon, but the other compSci profs at TCU are outstanding.

If you want to teach yourself everything you need to know about programming than go right ahead and take this class. He does not know how to teach, and has lost my assignments on multiple occasions. He was asked not to teach this class in the past, and he should have kept it that way.

No one ever went to class except on quiz days. He only gives grades for quizzes and labs. If you go to class, pay a little attention, and glance over the notes you will do fine on the quizzes. If you show up to class and pay a little attention he will be more willing to help you out when it comes to grading. He's really funny too.

This guy is the biggest blow hard I have ever met. He doesn't teach and he doesn't know what he's doing. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE HIS CLASS.
