Knowledgeable. Lectures are a little dry but broken up by easy group worksheets and class discussion. Two take home exams and one group legislation project. Overall, very happy I took the class with him.

I think that I learned more from Dr. Rohrer than I did in all of my other PSC classes. There is a lot of reading in this class and the lectures supplement the reading material. Do not miss a class. His stories are great. Good guy and an excellent teacher.

Best course and best Professor I have had at CMU. Dr. Rohrer is very knowledgeable and presents information clearly. Cool dude with a lot of real world experience. Take his classes, for sure.

This class is kind of hard... it takes a lot of your time to read the sections. The tests are somewhat difficult so I recommend studying. He doesn't give much extra credit or homework. The final group project is a large part of your grade so work hard with your group.

This is a great class. Harder than I expected, tho. Lots of reading and you must attend class and take notes. Powerpoint slides help. Prof. Rohrer is great and helpful. Team teaching makes it interesting. I just wish they had more films and video. Lectures can be a bit long. I got a B+ and could have had an A if I would have worked harder.

This is a great class and I learned a lot. Prof. Rohrer is an excellent teacher and uses real world examples to illustrate teh concepts taught in the class. Tests cover both the text and classroom lectures so be sure not to miss any classes or get notes if you do. One of the best classes at CMU. Take it and learn about the Environment!

His tests can be a little off the wall. He gave us a study guide, and a lot of the stuff I had to look up because it wasn't in the notes or in the book. He also doesn't put his power points online, which can be frustrating. In the end, though- I learned a lot from this guy. He knows his stuff.

I was really excited to take this class but somewhat disappointed when I did. His lectures were boring and the exams were difficult. There weren't many chances to get your grade up if you did bad on one of his four exams. The review guides were very long and for the most part not very helpful.

Prof. Rohrer is a very good instructor with a lot of real world stories and examples to go along with the course material. If you are at all interested in environmental issues, take this course for your UP requirements. Classes meet in the evening so it is very convenient. Rohrer is brilliant and a nice guy. Grading is fair.

I enjoyed this class. My favorite part was the community forum/debate, which actually gets a little intense. Tom is a very nice guy with a sarcastic, but good sense of humor. The tests are overall easy even if you just pay minimal attention and glance over your notes. It was a good class and I recommend taking it.

Amazing class--loved the team-taught aspect. Dr. Matty is off-the-wall and hard to get notes from, but he's still fun and a very engaging speaker. I'm taking another class with Rohrer and can't wait! Definitely go to class--without the prof's explanations stuff might not make sense. For others, the stuff just clicks; it's like a common sense class.

I really didn't want to take this class, but it was recommended to me by my advisor. After the first few classes, I was hooked. The team was dynamic and interesting. I learned more than I ever thought I would about our amazing environment. Hope to take more classes with Rohrer in the future.

He gives very difficult tests which contain many multiple choice questions that were never even dicussed in class. My whole class got less than a 70% on our first exam. Do not take this class if you do not have to. It should not be considered easy what-so-ever!

Rohrer is awesome. He's nice and really funny in a sarcastic, low-key kind of way. Yes, there's a lot of material and notes to take so you need to go to class and tests are detailed, but I haven't found him boring yet. Dr. Matty and Dr. Kurtz (who teach later in the semester), on the other hand, make me want to bang my head against a wall.

This class is team taught with 3 other teachers. Rohrer isn't bad but 2 of the other teachers are terrible. You will want to slam you head against the table rather than listen to them. The class is interesting but it is a class "To teach you how to recycle". That is a quote right from Rohrer. Don't think that I would recommend this class.

Rohrer is great, Dr. Matty is AWFUL! Our class convinced him to put his powerpoints on blackboard. Don't use this as an excuse to skip class though, you'll be screwed if you do!
