Had Mr. Piumarta at Ohlone back in the mid 80s. He was an amazing professor back then; wouldn't throw out an A to everyone; you had to really work for it. On the other hand, if you were having trouble with a certain concept, he would explain it in detail. Ended up using some of principles I learned from him, as a Log Accountant. Thanks, Mr. P!

For a pre-req class at a community college he makes this class really tough. The material is already hard enough, but he doesn't make it any easier. I'm a Marketing major so I could care less about Accounting. Only take him if you're good at Math/Accounting, otherwise take someone easier, it's not worth trying hard and getting a C in his class..

When it comes to teaching, you can definitely ACCOUNT on him to help! Sorry, little accounting humor. I took his class, but dropped it. Me and 2 students asked him on a date, and he said no. All I wanted to do was study...HE was nice though, and always helpful, so I'd ACCOUNT on him for a good grade. Actually, I got a C-, not sure how?

Great professor! Not an easy A, but manageable if accounting is easy for you. I got a 97 on the final and overall A in the class. He is intimidating during lectures when callin on ppl & really hates it when ppl are late. make sure to get good ppl for group projects, theres 2. 2 exams & a final that isnt cumulative.

Nice teacher. Lecture can be a bit boring, but you need to pay attention to understand material. A fairly heavy workload, but it makes you learn the material.No extra credit. 3 exams. Mr. Piumarta is an excellent teacher. One of the few classes at Ohlone where I feel is a true college style class. I feel like if I miss class, I am actually missing content. He could not take roll and students would still come to his class. Tests are challenging, but completely possible to get an A if you studied. GO TO TEST PREPARATION DAYS!

This professor knows what he is doing. Each day he comes to class with a tie, which shows a tremendous amount of respect. He treats his students FAIRLY and EQUALLY. Even though his tests are difficult, you will learn a lot. Lectures are interesting when he adds his personal experiences. Overall very good instructor. Better than most!

Challenging yourself! He is willing to help you and accepts any questions. He grades in final is not strict,and he likes students worked-hard and answering questions in clases. Teaches wonderfully ,concepts are drilled in .Very nice schedule .Reviews before every exam .Very polite ,proffessional and balanced .Makes sure all his students learn .I wish he would teach more acct subjects in Ohlone.Exams are relevant and what he teaches in class.
