I have taken her class multiple times and at first, I didn't like her at all. After taking more classes with her I got used to her teaching style. She is really bad about grading things and it does take a while but most of the time it is a fair grade. She has wonderful stories that relate to teaching and really help with teaching. She is great

She's a busy woman, but tells you to go to her first if you have any problems/questions. She expects you to read before the classes/participate in class discussions. Her lectures are a mix of PP(didn't help)/discussions. Weekly notes/quizzes due every Sun. Online syllabus was different from printed. Allowed note card for tests. Very knowledgeable.

Her lectures are really interesting to listen to, but there's a lot of note taking and quizzes each week. She's really nice and will work with you to get a good grade, but sometimes she forgets to post assignments and quizzes and it messes with the class.

She is very disorganized and be prepared for a lot of notes. She may post one of the exams online. Also all quizzes are online which is nice. You can get an easy A but wont learn much.

I participated in class, signed in everyday, and did well on assignments. I received a poor grade. She did not contact me for 6 weeks to review why I received that grade. She did not keep track of the grades on my assignments or attendance, I appealed. Thankfully I kept my papers with grades. She dislikes social workers and makes that clear.

One of the most confusing, worst professors I have had at Ferris. Not clear about really anything, expects you to agree with her opinion and she is ALWAYS right. Just getting assignments graded and it is the end of March. Talks about her personal issues during class time (divorce, ex boyfriend, etc.). Expects you to know the book word for word.

I really enjoyed taking her class! It was pretty simple, had weekly quizzes straight from the book. Except half way through she pretty much forgot to put them up so we didn't do those. Exam is open book. The class is overall really interesting. Doesn't grade fast, if you miss enough days you automatically fail. Overall good and would take again.

I enjoyed taking her Education class. I learned a lot from her lectures. Be sure to take notes and use the study guides. She is straight forward when she assigns something. Most homework is online. I would take her class again.

I love professor Hines! I actually learned a lot in this class. Her stories always went along with the topic which kept me very interested. Quizzes and midterm was online and not too difficult. Final was in class but open book. There is two papers which weren't so bad. There was also a couple discussion boards due every week. Very easy class!

Nice class. She was kind of slow to return lesson plans though. It was frustrating. She was really good at helping with placement problems though.

Wow, worst professor EVER! She was awful, it is not that the classwork was hard, it was that she would take like 4 weeks to grade something, but in the meantime you did not know if she liked your previous lesson plans, so you kept writing lesson plans with no feedback, just hoping you did them right

Honestly a joke. She praises livetext like it's her job (maybe it is) and degrades students in multiple ways. She seems nice up front, but boy you better show up for class- and on time at that. I had her for this entry course for the first five weeks of the semester and did everything required. My final grade is an F?? Seriously? AVOID

Good luck. Its a required class. She sucks. Nothing graded, preachers about being a great teacher but does not show it. She is always on a soap box everything bad has happened to her. Oh and its half a geography class because you learn lots about west Virginia, where she taught for who cares how long. Dont expect to get a good grade.

She is the reason I'm finishing my masters degree at CMU. She hates men and speaks negatively of nearby public schools. She is the absolute worst person I have ever met.

Unavailable! Unprepared. Materials not graded or returned in a timely manner. Manipulative and very intentionally abusive to cover up her lack of work ethic. Inconsistent. Unclear. Nothing learned or accomplished. Waste of time and money.

I have a 3.73 gpa at FSU and work hard for my grades and in 2.5 years, this is the WORST and LEAST HELPFUL teach I've EVER ENCOUNTERED. My advice, if you aren't sure about your grade, her requirements on assignments ect...CALL HER AND EMAIL HER OVER AND OVER TO GET AN ANSWER B/C SHE WILL IGNORE YOU IF POSSIBLE.

Not prepared. No relevant material. Assignments not clear. Extremely unprofessional and abusive to students. Makes threats & maintains constant state of fear in classroom. Unavailable, discourages questions, ignores requests for help. Frequent angry tyrades. Grading is completely subjective on whether or not she likes you. Very self-centered.

V. Hines was unprepared for class, did not start class on time, boring, did not give clear directions, assignments were a mystery, grades were not given for 5 weeks and more following due dates, calendar was incomplete and not available, showed too many movies with little follow-up, made rude comments to students, and was unprofessional. AVOID!
