Comment:
MSE 209 could be a very tough class if you dont know what all the variables represent, so basically he's nice and horribly boring but you just have to press him for clarity and you'll pass aka office hrs. take groves is my suggestion.

I would not take this course again if I had the choice. The homeworks are easy but the tests aren't. The teaching is very sloppy and hard to follow. And did I mention the textbook is totally useless?

one problem is that he doesn't tell you what he's going over, so you don't know if the material you're doing is in chapter 7 or what. tests weren't too bad, homework was hard (sometimes), and he spoke really, really softly. demonstrations were cool though.

Condescending, lame. Sloppy drwngs, worse over video. Test & HW questions had tricks not covered/class. Book is stone age, no applications. Too much derivation, can't tell what is useful. No book for Polymers; bad handouts. Had to get on internet. Hard to copy messy drwng and follow lecture too.

Get the lecture videos. Use windows media player to double the speed of the playback. Otherwise you will fall asleep.

Jesser was a ok professor. He was very willing to help you after class or in office hours. The tests for this class are easy if you do the homework.

the material is worse than the teacher. he does the best he can to make the material interesting, its just a dense class.

He does a relatively good job of explaining the material, but talks so slowly that I always fall asleep. This is the most boring class I've ever taken (but probably more because of the material than the professor).
