Comment:

HUGE stickler for attendance and showing up on time. He can - and will - call you out in front of the whole class. That being said, he has a good enough relationship with his students that it comes off as teasing, not scolding. Can be a tough marker but he's always very specific about what he wants.

350 characters isn't enough to list all of the great things about Bill. I've learnt so much in this term of Onstage from his hands-on teaching style all while having a fantastic time in class. But be prepared to work really hard all year! Don't arrive late and get your stuff done.

Theatre rule number one: don't be late ! Bill is a great teacher, very engaging classes (lecture or "hands-on"). Always glad to give feedback and encouragement. Great sense of humour. Strict about discipline, punctuality. So be on time ! Intro is an easy credit if you put your heart into it. You'll learn lots about yourself and improve.

Funny guy, gives great feedback, knows how to engage with students... but don't mistake his easy-going nature for being a pushover. Show up late, miss one too many classes, talk too much in class, and he WILL call you out on it, possibly in front of everyone.

I wish I would have found this professor earlier in my university career. He is amazing. Out of like the 30 profs I have had he is hands down the best one. I would say it is safe to say he is the best one on the campus. He is so clear and approachable and really includes everyone

Great prof. Kept my attention every class, which isn't an easy thing to do. Gave a lot of feedback on papers and encouraged class discussions. I used to hate anything that had to do with Shakespeare and now I don't mind it. I'd definetly take a class with Bill again!

The secret to student life and great grades? Easy and it applies in Kerr's class as well. 1) do the reading and assignments and 2) attend class. Kerr's class is enjoyable. He motivates on an individual level, not a mass level. But again, you have to do the readings and assignments and attend class.

I don't understand the comments saying he makes people feel stupid - from what I've seen he's really tactful with all the responses from the class. The worst you'll get is a slightly puzzled look. Really nice guy, very knowledgeable (esp. in the practicalities of theatre) and really interested in discussion. Recommended.

It is diffuicult to tell how well you will do at the end of the class. Made me feel like I was doing terrible, but ended up with an A. Nice guy but marks you on your potential, not how well you do in comparision to others. If you're used to getting all A's in classes like this be prepared for a wake up.
