as long as you go to class, take notes, write reaction papers and read the assignments you will do fine. he is repetitive, anything he repeats will be on the test. he assigns about 25-30 pages on tues for class on thurs. but he lets you know the week before so you have a week to read it! with 2 y/o twins and a 2 month old baby...easy A

Teeming with wisdom, and passionate about poetry and prose. His lectures are interesting, and his grading is very fair. I sense that most of the negative comments are from non-majors who think 160 pages per week is a lot of reading. It's not.

Seems like a nice guy, but does have his favorites when you ask for help. He blew me off completely to help another student. The books he selected were good. Just do all the reading assign. and you will do fine. The time allowed for tests is too short. Too critical when grading and not very fair; his favorites get the A's.

I had him for Cont. Literature. He picked out really good novels for us to read, so at least he attempts to make the class interesting. His lectures seem to focus on small details of books that arent really that important. If you can do the reading take him, the tests are relatively easy and there is one paper. Hes not that bad!!

He expects 80 pages of reading just between Tuesday and Thursday on top of your normal class schedule, 160 pages per week. He also gives little time to write several pages of essay on his tests. Continued reading of 160 pages/week is required even during the writing period of your 3000 word term paper. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

DON't take this class if you can avoid it- sooo much writing homework, essays and pointless papers to he knows you read the chapters- three text books, you never get out early, over 300 vocab words you have to memorize and learn definitions to, this class is absolutely rediculous. everyone i know hates it. I can see why people wouldnt like this course. He is a damn hard professor and does expect you to know the material thoroughly for the next class, but I suppose that is what school is about. He is smart but he expects you to be as smart as he is, he expects u to get about 4 semesters worth of reading done in one semester bc he has red the god damm books so many times. dont take the class because he is an over barring clown and the class is far from funny
