Comment:

She asks for the newest version of the book which barly U can find it and its very expensive. Her review sheets, powerpoints and tests are totally different from each other. I have no idea what to study for the test. Class is so boaring. Some people just fall in sleep. She put the test literally on the last day of school that no one was in school.

Comment:

I found Dr. Dai fascinating as a history professor. She delivers the material in a streamlined manner. Listen to her lectures, take notes on what she says and youll be fine. 2 quizzes, midterm, final, and 2 five to six page papers. Nothing too brutal for a History course. Only needed book for first paper.

Comment:

Very few assignments and quizzes so you mess up on one thing it can ruin your whole grade. Had exactly 2 papers, 2 quizzes, mid-term and a final. Lectures are boring, repeats the same information 5 different times in one lecture. Has a thick accent that makes it hard to understand her sometimes. Reviews have information that doesn't appear on test.

Teacher is very lecture heavy and is extremely boring. Lectures always drag even from the beginning. Won't go over course material for quizzes, tests, or papers. Extremely thick accent and hard to understand. Overall one of the worst teachers i've had at William Patterson, would not recommend to anyone.

Only took the class bc its required. Pretty easy, basic history class. She has a pretty heavy accent and I honestly couldnt even pay attention in class bc I had no idea what she was saying most of the time. Plus I have no interest in this class. 2 quizzes, 2 exams, 2 five pg papers. Do them and study for tests and it should be an easy A

Nice lady. Class was a breeze, but lectures tend to drag. Accent is noticeable, but not bad. Recommend her for non-westerns Class format: 3 tests and one term paper, 12-15 pages You get a review guide for tests I didn't read any of the text books/memoirs etc. Found all info on wiki etc., spent 3 hours or so filling out review/studying from that

If you're really interested in East Asian history take her. She makes her classes interesting. Yes she has an accent but it's not a problem. She's a fair grader. Pay attention in class and take notes!

Boring. EXTREMELY boring. The only way I stay up in her class is if I'm using my laptop other then that I fall asleep. Her lectures feel super long and her accent doesn't help. She is an easy professor however, I would NOT take her again.

Had her for Foundations of Civilization. Extremely boring & at first hard to understand due to her accent. 2 quizzes, 2 essays (5 pages long), midterm, final. She doesn't have pwpts. She stands in the front of the room talks & writes on the board (random words). Take notes while you listen. (hard because extremely boring). She's "Meh". Not too bad

Dr. Dai was kool. Her class is easy going just keep up with the readings and you'll be fine. She gives you 2 papers to right which are easy also and if you do good on the papers and not so well on the quizzes youll still pass. very interestin stories she had us read though... lol

I took East Asian Civilization with her, which WAS my minor. She is a very nice lady but didn't seem to grade evenly or fairly. She would mark someone right & then the next person wrong on the same answer. I had a 4.0 in my senior semester before taking her. She ended up giving my an A- & REFUSED extra credit. I wouldn't take her again.

She is very nice, and she will help you out if you have questions or problems. That said, she is very boring. She just talks and talks for the whole class. If you can deal with the boredom, then take the class and get an A or B easy.

She has very little control of the class, hard to understand, can't give great explanations to questions, and always the subject is not her profession. I am not saying she is a bad professor, but for an introduction course to history, she should not teach it in the future.

Dr. Dai is a nice lady and is helpful to her students. Her quizzes were kind of hard because you had to know like 50 different terms for each one, but she gives good notes. If you read your notes and textbook you should have no problem. Go to class regularly, she takes attendance and gives a lot of notes each class period. Never cancelled class

Absolutely sweet prof. Especially for a course for which the reading material was not easy. Did a very good job of explaining it, and class disscussion was without question. Its was universally excepted; Benjamin Schwartz is not an easy guy to read

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU LIKE SITTING IN A CHAIR COMPLETELY GOING INSANE FOR THE ENTIRE CLASS PERIOD. very very very boring, shes hard to understand, short easy quizes if u kno your stuff, nice lady, BORING CLASS, i think about leaving class early ever time i go because i just cant sit there the whole entire time.
