Andrew is an outstanding professor. I highly recommend taking a class with him, he is phenomenal. He's more than willing to help his students succeed as long as they put in the effort. Make sure you take good notes and know the core sections of each paper, that's all you really need. Love Andrew, he's the best! I admire him so much! <3

I loved Dr. Howell, he's very intelligent but super approachable. You can tell he cares about his students. The topics he covers in the class are also interesting. The only thing I didn't really enjoy about the class is how many papers you have to thoroughly read on top of the textbook. Do NOT get behind on readings at all costs.

Very difficult to do well- expect to work very hard if you want a decent mark. So many readings and you are basically expected to memorize all of them as he gives no hints as to what is going to be on tests. Normally 400 levels don't have tests, but this class had a midterm and final. Avoid if you dislike group work as the project is based on it

I've taken Andrew in 3 courses and am also an honours student working under him. He consistently goes above and beyond for any student that reaches out. He's hard and fast about due dates but you get the dues dates day one, so plan and your good. He cares a lot about his students and loves what he does and its clear in the way he purports himself.

Good prof. marks are distributed in a good way. Quizzes are all based off the chapter and not from the lecture. He makes class interesting, but If I could I would take it mon/wed/fri split. It is an interesting class with easy marks based from quizzes and research participation. His classes are very structured and there is really nothing online.

Very nice, obviously knows his stuff, but this class lacked some guidance. He requires you to learn the textbook by yourself, and if you miss one class you're screwed for the mid-term and final. Lots of extra readings and you need to memorize them in order to do well, because he doesn't provide any hints on what is important to know for the exam.

Andrew is marvellous: he structures his class to give you the most information about clinical psychology and grad school, gets you involved and encourages professional skills like leading discussions. Encourages you to write your essay on something pertinent to you and your future psych goals.

Dr. Howell is incredible. He does his best to make 212 as interesting as possible, always telling stories to match different research methods. His expectations are extremely clear. He is probably one of the nicest humans you will meet. If you go to him for help he is always extremely positive and willing to help. Such a gem

Andrew is a great teacher! Lectures were interesting. Attending class is a must - he doesn't post his PPs and the written portion of his exams are based off of the material he covers in class. He let us know from the beginning that all material in the textbook is fair game for exams, so read all the chapters! Exams were totally fair.

He is very soft spoken but super informative. Beware of his grade cut offs they are very close together. overall you have to read weekly articles and know the basics of them and reading textbook chapters is mandatory for midterm and final. If you do the readings the class is actually pretty easy but if you dont do the readings you will barely pass.

Dr. Howell is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable but treats his students like they are at his level. Asking for helping on the research proposal is like pulling teeth and he is extremely vague. Dr. Howell is a nice guy who has very high standards for his students. Read the textbook, go to his lectures and take notes you will need them to pass.

I really enjoyed having Andrew as a prof. However, beware, his midterms, finals, and weekly quizes require you to read the textbook. His written is all on his in class lectures. Andrew doesn't post his powerpoints online. Also, he makes dad jokes and is an overall good time.

Dr. Howell is an amazing prof, he's understanding and respectful and I love his insight into psychology. However, the tests for this class are insane. They're only out of 36 marks, 12 questions. You have to know every chapter and reading assigned, and if you don't know just one question on the exam? Say goodbye to 8% of your mark. VERY tough.

You'll need to read and memorize the textbook, but his tests are fair if you put in the work. There were no essays assigned and the weekly online quizzes were helpful in preparation for midterms and the final.

Professor Howell is terrific! Has an evident passion for psychology. Admittedly, I don't have any other professors to reference and compare him to since this was my first psych class. That said, I truly believe he is the best psych prof at MacEwan! Easiness is relative. You definitely need to allot time to reading the text to achieve a good grade

Andrew's an awesome prof. Go to class tho cuz he doesnt post his slideshows on blackboard and the written parts of the exams are from the material he discusses in class. Tests are fairly easy, you get chapter quizzes a couple times a month but theyre easy and take less than 10mins. He's not boring to listen to, highly recommend him.
