Dr. Burnett is a very intelligent man who does care about his students, but you MUST prove to him that you're making an effort. Participation in class is not required, but it's helpful for yourself IF you want his help. Study the notes VERY thoroughly after every class; he gives extra credit quizzes; expects a lot from his students

be prepared to study everynight for he drops the grading scale down so like a 70 is a B and does daily quizzes that can add up to 10 pts max on test. Study though can walk out with A if study slides actually learn concepts

Do not take this class, it is extremely difficult. He is not clear about what he wants. Hes rude. He will fail you because he does not care about how well you do. He cannot teach at all. He says one thing and does the other on tests, etc.

When you get your schedule and you see Burnett by your bio class, DROP IT!!!! He is an impossible teacher, and his class is ridiculously hard!!! He tells you what he wants on his tests, but they are really hard. It's like you might as well not even study! I would not advise not taking his class. Get out while you can!!!

This guy is ridiculously hard. he doesnt have an attendance policy, but if you miss a class, you miss tons of information. he puts his slides he shows in class on his website but they are not helpful unless you were in class to get all the side notes. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, YOU WILL FAIL!

i understand that he knows the subject very well but he simply can't teach. He teaches graduate level classes except this one class and expects freshmen and sophmore to be able to keep up with him. he failed almost the entire class(200 students) and responded to our questions by calling us idiots.

Get out of this class!! I came into it with a strong high school background in Biology and that was going to be my major. Now I have changed my major because he is impossible to pass! Hard tests, no attendance policy but to get by in the class, be there every class! Not clear on anything!!

He is the worst teacher I have ever had. I was planning on majoring in biology and going into pre-med, but his class was awful and I have completely given up my dream of being in the medical profession because of him. I agree with all the other comments.

He offers no outside help with ONE office hour. He goes out of town for the entire week of a test, including the final. His exams include obscure information and the class averages for exams were about 45-50% everytime.
