He is a very difficult professor and I did pass his class with an A but it was really hard. He ask for too much and had to be up to his standards. But if I am being honest, I did become a much better writer.

Do not take him! He is a very smart professor but his class is very difficult. He expects a lot in your papers and pretty much be the way he wants it to be. It's a really hard class. Its his way or the high way!

Professor Briggs is a great professor/ he knows his profession. If you want to work hard and learn your material to produce excellent work then take Briggs. I had a hard time in his class, he wants too much, you will need four books, and he grades hard. He expects for you to know where a comma is placed and will mark you down a grade on your paper.

The style he teaches is very cryptic; he would provide little to no info. He doesn't use his blackboard at all. He never updates it. His grading style is very harsh; apparently he loves to play the race card. My friend took this class with me and he is the same race as him. My friend has missed 3 papers and he received a better grade than me.

This was honestly the worst professor I have EVER had. He does not help his students at all. The entire class always seemed confused by the instructions he was giving and, when it became apparent that most people were struggling, he would blame it on them. Terrible, terrible professor.

Worst english professor ive ever taken. Although i passed with a B, i do not recommend him. Really distracted. Takes FOREVER to grade work. He is so distracted, he graded my work RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and would later give me 0 points for the work. I had to turn it in AGAIN for him to believe me. Just please, DO NOT take him !

Attendance is absolutely mandatory. This was his first time ever using Blackboard and you could tell it was confusing for him which made it difficult for the students as well. He grades tough and isn't very clear when giving instructions. I don't recommend taking this class unless you're ready to work hard, especially on the research paper.

He surely make you earn your grade. Although I did earn an A, I didn't expect it due to the fact that he graded my papers so tough. I realize now, he did that to make me a better writer. I don't recommend taking his class unless you are ready for serious overloads of work.

This course that I am taking, I thought it would have been enjoyable but I was wrong. Even though I know I am not but he would always make it seem like I was wrong,but in reality I was right. He is a hard grader he's terrible not recommended, and his expectations are extremely high because he wants everybody to right just like him.

Dr. Briggs is a complete inspiration! The literature given is an eye opener and it expands your way of thinking. He was one of the few professors that had the guts to discuss racial topics. I recommend his class only to people that are serious about college because earning an A in his class is not easy at all.

I got a B on the majority of my papers! I participated in class, and did everything I was susposed to do like, my lab hours and my journal. However, I did slack on the reshearch paper yet, I do not know how I still recieved a grade of "D". I just knew I was in a high "C" low "B" range! If you want a challenge take this man! Urrrgh, what a waste!
