Dr. Bessinger is a straight-shooter, but he expects a lot from his students. The tests are very tough, but fair. As long as you attend class regularly and read the textbook, you'll be fine. He doesn't require you to have the text, but I highly recommend it if you want to do well. Great professor- very sweet and always willing to help!

Have had him multiple times over the past two years. Loved every bit of my time in his classes. He's challenging, engaging, and thoughtful. You'll learn alot if you put in the work. He doesn't spoon feed you, but he will educate you.

Dr. Bessinger is clearly brilliant: The class was interesting. Relies heavily on handouts and notes-but you must read the book to get a good score. Tests were all multiple choice, but still quite challenging.

Dr. Bessinger is by far my favorite professor at Winthrop. He is extremely knowledgable, understanding and totally reasonable. His lectures are so interesting and he is the sweetest person you'd wanna meet. He even responded to one of my emails on a saturday morning! No professor has ever done that for me. Do the work & read and you'll be fine.

If you are failing Dr. Bessinger's class, it's because you didn't study. Dr. Bessinger is very fair, gives you the benefit of the doubt even when you don't deserve it. I would take him again even though Nutrition is not my major. Won't expect you to know anything he or the book hasn't discussed.
