She's funny but she is a horrible prof. She never explains anything clearly and then expects you to know everything. Marking is super difficult and expectations are way too high for a first-year course. If your an Arts student that needs a science, avoid this women.

Shes a nice lady and pretty funny. Class-wise, I did fine, my classmates did not. I dont know what it is but shes doing something wrong because my class got a 30% average on the midterm. If you need extra support when it comes to sciences I would find a different prof.

Labs were less than useful in preparing for the lab final. She explained everything way too quickly and her marking was way too difficult. Concepts that were not even on the labs were tested on the final. Avoid this woman

If you're taking this as a lab science and you're an arts major find a lab science major friend. Carolyn tends to leave a lot of info out when explaining labs and makes what is easy very confusing. Labs are very easy, pair up with someone who knows their stuff! Very particular and hard marker. Goes over prev lab at beginning of class. DONT BE LATE

Not very good as a lab instructor, she should have chosen to be the lecturer. She can't explain this at all and can barely answer any of your questions. I thought the labs were supposed to prepare you for the lab exam? How are you supposed to understand things the first time around if this is foreign material? Seriously so frustrating!

I liked Carolyn both as a professor and as a person. Sometimes she confuses herself and has to back track a little bit, and sometimes she's not the best at explaining labs (but they're really easy, so it doesnt matter). BUT her expectations are always made clear and her exam review is REALLY helpful and you can chose the questions you answer.

Caroline is a good professor. She is tough, but fair. To those students who say she does not give clear guidelines on assignments or exams they are simply wrong. Her exam preparation is by far my favourite as she gives you topics to study in advance, and are given choices on what to answer. Read the chapters, do the assignments, and you will be ok

Caroline is a very good prof, and she really cares about her students, and is really helpful when you need help. She is very willing to go step by step and help you understand the concepts because it is very important to have a good understanding in this class, otherwise you won't do well. I'd take another class with her but do all the readings!

Personally, I struggled in this class because I'm an English major and took the class as a BA requirement. Carolyn was very helpful but only if you sought her out, she would not babysit you. Once I met with her she was a great help and saved me from a failing grade. Easygoing prof, would recommend this class for anyone in any year of UFV

Did not enjoy her class. Her midterm reviews were very unclear and provided you with sample questions that rarely would appear on the actual exam. Her lectures are also very boring but then again it is a bland topic. She expects you to know a lot already despite this being a first-year course.

I have heard better things about Carolyn than the other profs for 102 labs. If you struggle with math, I would recommend her because she will go step by step with the notes. She is only a part-time prof though, so she is not around very much to help out.

If you can avoid it, dont take a class with her. She was late everyday, always showed up to class not knowing what we were supposed to be doing. She was completely unapproachable and embarassed students when they asked questions in class.

Great professor! The course is a lot of work and you cover a lot of material but Caroline lets you know exactly what topics will appear on exams. Study lots and study what she mentions in the review and you should end up with a good mark. She is very approachable and pushes her students to do their best!
