Though I agree with most of the negative reviews, it's possible to get an easy A with this professor. Just don't be late or miss lectures and pay attention in class. READ BEFORE CLASS. Yes, lectures are boring and mostly reading the textbook word for word, but her grading criteria is very low if you talk to her and understand what she's looking for

Comment:

Although she does miss important days at times, she is a wonderful teacher! She thoroughly explains the texts, so take notes and use this info on essays! It is very important to attend class because vital analysis of texts are discussed. Ask questions after you get your first essay on how to improve. Great class!

This professor gets off topic and can be moody without her daily dose of coca cola. You must do research on your own if you want to pass her class, she hates repeating herself and will expect everyone to understand her jokes. Average class but makes you want to fall asleep

Regret taking her class. She does go off topic. I passed all my papers & did good on the quizzes & she did not pass me. She doesnt tell you how you are doing in the class. Takes forever to return papers. Avoid her!

Misses random days. Grades tough for no reason on the smallest things. She has favouritism so if she likes you she won't nitpick work. You have to be a teacherpet if you want her to like you. Takes forever to give graded work back. If you think you're good at essays you won't after taking her. She says one thing then says she never said that.

This was by far the easiest class to get a good grade on. You just have to be nice to her and participate in class. She likes people who offer to read and know what they are talking about. Her grading is a bit confusing but if she likes you, you will get a good grade. Goes off topic a lot but it isn't intended. Just be respectful! It's simple.

4 essays. doesn't explain how to writetalk about it so you have to look up what they are on your own. read 2 books. a couple quiz's. goes off topic. missed a bunch of random classes. gives you plenty of time to turn stuff in. class is extremely boring. easy, but boring and uninteresting

If you are a bad English student, this will probably be a good class for you. If you were an A student in English in High School or an Honors or AP student, as I was, you will want to jump out the window. Her intelligence is well below-average (I was once told my answer of "The Dutch" was wrong, right answer was "people from Holland"). Umm, ok?

She missed alot of random days, even quiz and test days. The work class structure was bad. For example, read achapter, next day in class we re-read the whole thing. And the assigned essays lacked room for opinion and creativity. Writting 5pages on comparing 2 charcters. Seriously?

A good teacher. Had to take her for Eng 1A. Essays are based on the books you read and have to be 4-5 pages long except the research paper which is 7-8 pages long. A problem she had is that she would takes forever to grade essays.

If you want an A then take her class. Pretty nice, soft spoken, explain each topic in detail. I used to feel sorry for her because she used to give us examples from the English literature but unfortunately non of us have heard about them.

This teacher was very mellow, her quizzes and tests were not difficult as long as you studied for a a few mins, her essays were not too complex (good for people fresh out of high school or years off of school), shares stories to take a break off lectures, and enjoys conversing with the students. She was a good choice in my opinion.

Pretty good teacher, clear and concise, very funny. Gives 4 essays 4 pgs min. and a take home final. I really liked her class and look forward to taking her once more if possible.
