Dr. Schrader is a very nice guy and gives really good feedback, but he's also a VERY tough grader. I thought I did very well on all of my speeches and received pretty low grades on most of them. Make sure to do well on the quizzes and go to class, because it'll help a lot.

Comment:

Took his honors add on and it was so easy. Just three speeches and if you show up and do a half way decent speech you get an A. Every speech is critiqued by a student and then you have to share the feedback with the class. Schrader also gives feedback, usually quite positive.

Dr. Schrader's honors add on for speech is probably the easiest add on I've ever taken. He grades on a pass/fail basis and is not very harsh on grading- he always seems to point out the positive. He cancels class quite a bit and ends class early in the semester so that we can focus on other classes. The class becomes very close friends. Take him!

Dr. Schrader is a great guy! I had the honors section and it was really fun- very interactive and I got to know everyone in the class. Per the class name, some public speaking is required but in general it wasn't too stressful and Schrader gives great feedback. Overall a useful class, would highly recommend.

I took the honors section of the class, and I really enjoyed it. This class is really easy going, but I think it helped all the students become better speakers. Participation is encouraged, and class was a lot of fun! I would describe this class as low stress but rewarding!

Despite the fairly high rating, Dr. Schrader is not a very good speech professor. He is a nice guy, but his presentations are so hypocritical. He talks about speech techniques, etc, while NEVER doing them himself. His scattered thoughts never become clearer through the course. If you have him on day 1 and think you'll hate his class, you will.

Took his honors intro to speech class. As the other reviewers said, he is pretty laid back. The quizzes and tests aren't hard if you read the textbook. However, there is very little room for error for grades, as the amount of points offered for certain assignments can make it a challenge.

Dr. Schrader is a very good professor and has very interesting lectures. He is always willing to help and cares for his students! While I really enjoyed this class, he is a tough grader, so you must work hard despite his laid back personality.

I took his honors speech course. It was really easy and the people in the class were a lot of fun. He's kind of a strange guy, but it makes class that much more enjoyable. really easy grader too!

This class was an interesting learning experience. We had a lot of good in-class discussions and exercises. He grades kind of hard on the actual speeches, but is very understanding if you have problems. Just talk to him if you need help. Definitely rehearse your speeches with an audience for feedback.

Amazing professor! I had him for the Honors Section, and our class was so much fun. He's funny, and very helpful. His midterm and final are basically vocab tests, and are easy if you study. And he is very helpful when it comes to the speeches.

Great, wonderful caring teacher! Easy A because he basically gives you the answers to the test questions but you will need to study for the exams to do well! Its best to participate in class discussions. Very laid back and loves his students! Take any classes you can from him!

He's a cool teacher, very easy going. Class is fun, he makes it interesting. Tests aren't too bad, but you need to study for them. He gives great study guides that cover all the questions on the test.
