Comment:
Donna was accessible via email and helpful when you email her. This is a heavy course with lots of reading and writing, but she grades fairly. No midterm but the final was tough with a 5-6 page paper, comprehensive definitions, and a random 5 part short answer from the course readings. Make sure to ask questions when needed and you'll do great!

Comment:
This is a dry course with a lot of readings but it does challenge broader thinking and applicability. She is a hard marker for papers but really good at answering emails quickly and offering solid advice. I just wish she had provided her own notes as well because some readings were convoluted and difficult to understand.

It was a pleasure to take this course. It challenged me in many different ways but I also learned so much about myself and about the world. I appreciated Donna's kindness in being flexible about granting extensions, responding quickly to emails, and providing us with live video conferences where she took time to explain the assignments to us.

Donna is a good prof, knows her area of expertise, & is accessible when you find difficulty in the readings and understanding the concepts. Her assignments & exams are all writing, so if you do not particularly enjoy writing I would choose another professor. However, she provides detailed guidelines so you can prepare to be successful in the course

Must read all of the articles (which are long and dry) and be familiar with the terms/author's arguments to do well in this class. Her final exam was all written response and included an essay question which she gives you beforehand. However, she is very good at replying to emails and it is possible to get an A if you put in the effort.

Not a fan of philosophy, but Donna prepares you for every quiz/exam and basically tells you exactly what to expect. Reading the textbook super necessary as class lectures often get way off topic. **Know all of the terms/definitions and you should easily get a B.

Her lectures are very boring. The content was not very interesting either, but that's just my opinion. She was helpful when students need help.

Very easy. Get everything she says in class, take notes from BB and additional notes in class. Write down the examples, learn the key concept and you WILL do well. For a philosophy class, I barely touched the textbook, and ended up with a B+. I found her class very interesting, and I hate philosophy. You will do well if you know what to study for.

Very boring subject. She tries really hard to give examples but she uses only one example that isn't very helpful and repeats it often. Very monotone. Does not want your own take on things, wants the textbooks. Textbook is very high use, but need to read it over and over to understand. Boring boring boring.

Very helpful and knowledgeable teacher. Her classes are easy when compared to other Philosophy courses, but they are still helpful and interesting. The 'religion' topics in this class were somewhat fuzzy, as she put up with a lot of poor comments from students. Overall a good teacher, who will not hurt your GPA like most PHIL professors.

She's an awesome prof, really knows what she is talking about. I absolutely love philosophy and I have a feeling it is because she did an awesome job teaching the material. I'm very glad I took her class. She's not really difficult, but you need to have a good grasp when writing the essays.

Didnt think i would do very well in her class, or very well in Phil altogether. But she was VERY helpful. Really fair teacher, not easy but not overly difficult. I liked her alot. Whatever she lectured about in class was in her exams.

I have no interest in phil and I did the best in her class. Make your essays exactly by the text and you will do great. Super easy exams, just know your material. I did not even read the Republic and I pulled off an A knowing nothing about phil, so it's really not bad. Excellent Teacher, very helpful.

She wrote on the board and discussed exactly what would be on the exams, so even though I didn't always understand it, memorization did work pretty well. Lots of quizes that help out with the grades. I think phil is just an unfortunate subject that hurts itself...
