Comment:
Like many IS profs, his tenure must be related to staying unnoticeable in an unnoticeable department. He digresses constantly from actual material. We use CLIPS for homework - it is unilluminating, tedious, and frankly a waste of time. He must agree, because we never discuss it in class. The tests are on minutia he usually mentions offhand. Avoid!!

Somewhere, right now, he's still talking. This guy just drones on and on and on and on and on and on and well, you get the picture. Most of his rambling is unrelated to class. It takes him 20 minutes to describe even the most mundane concepts. The worst professor in IS and maybe the worst at Pitt.

An actual question on the second exam had us reproduce a diagram from the book from memory. This class and his tests are completely useless rote memorization of pointless facts and concepts. Avoid at all costs.

I don't know where to begin with this guy. He approaches the class with a condescending and arrogant attitude, and his lectures are worthless. He drones on and on about incomprehensible topics that are not related to the class. The assignments are unclear and the grading by the GSA is so inconsistent. Avoid at all costs.

He is one of the main reasons i think all professors should get a teaching certificate. He has ZERO teaching skills. He just rambles on for the whole class time. I really think he likes to hear himself talk. Zero interaction with the students. He is the reason why they should get rid of tenure or just let him do research.

Lectures contain poor examples of concepts and show a serious lack of planning. Tests on a lot of specifics and misses concepts. Flat out a POOR instructor.

Worst professor at the University. In my 4 years at Pitt his class was the only one that I withdrew from. Why he hasn't been fired is beyond me.

Absolutely the worst professor ever. His lectures were unorganized and boring, tests were terrible (average grade was seriously F on midterm). This guy has a bad attitude and does not care about his students, period. DO NOT take his classes.

Worthless. Lectures jumped around and seemed to just come off the top of his head. Tests were close to impossible. Grading seemed to be somewhat harsh. Don't take this professor.

He puts no effort into planning a course. Lectures are boring and offer little useful information, and homework assignments are very long. I would not recommend him to anybody.

hated every minute of this class. the only reason he teaches every semester is because he managed to get tenure somehow. i've never heard one good comment about him from grad or undergrad students.

lectures aren't worth going to and don't bother reading the book because his tests are so hard you'll fail no matter what. he also doesn't show up for office hours most of the time
