Professor Sperry is wonderful. I have taken two classes with her, and have a lot of respect for the woman. She is tough as nails, but is pretty clear about that from day one. Both courses I look were lecture-heavy by nature, but she made them fun and engaging, stops whenever a student has a question, and then goes out of her way to clarify content.

Best professor I've had at Jewell so far. She expects a lot from students, but it is certainly within reason. She is extremely clear in her expectations. You have to work hard, but you gain an immense amount of knowledge...not to mention the fact that she is HILARIOUS!

Dr. Sperry is possibly the best teacher I have had. She is unbelievably knowledgeable, explains difficult concepts well and in a highly entertaining manner (if very quickly), and does care about students. Also, she's probably the definition of übermensch.

While Dr. Sperry is intelligent and interesting, she is incapable of separating her feminist ambitions from the reality of other's work. This means that she pays special attention to feminist ranting, and is often ligher on grading for feminist work. But, as we all know, feminism is crap.

This woman is knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, fun, passionate, incredibly funny, and absolutely brilliant. Her classes will change your life, even if you don't "get" philosophy. She's a tough teacher but you don't even notice because her classes are so much fun (just make sure you do your work!). Make taking a class with her a priority.
