I have never found any opinions of instructors to be true. Liz is just a miserable individual all around and finds joy in her position of power. Ask her a question... she responds with, "Read the book". I did read the book. She responds with, "Maybe this isn't the right program for you then". She is completely unprofessional and lacks empathy.

Would NOT recommend for clinical!!!!! She is very hard on you, and not in a good way. She can be very harsh. Don't expect any pleasant encouragement, or any helpful feedback when asking questions at clinical. She is better with lecture. READ THE BOOK and take notes out of the book. Difficult tests.

I had Liz for lectures, lab, and clinical. Honestly, I was lucky to have her. She is so knowledgeable and really helps you understand things. You will definitely need to study because she is difficult. I would highly recommend her as an instructor.

I did not have Liz for clinical, but I certainly did hear some horror stories. Almost all of our lecture grades went down when she started lecturing. She is very intelligent, but the delivery is off, or something. There are some horror stories about her clinicals, so I would stay away from that, if possible. She will send students home.

VERY tough instructor. She's very straight and to the point. Does not take any BS! I found her lectures to be quite boring. Not the greatest people-person but is EXTREMELY intelligent. She knows her stuff!

Be prepared to work. Nursing care can be life or death and Liz takes this experience very seriously! Do not slack off and know your stuff. Liz is so knowledgable and really wants you to succeed. I had a great experience with her!

Liz is actually a pretty hard grader. But she is very intelligent, knows what she is talking about and in clinical expects you to know everything that is going on with your patient. She will ask you questions and expect you to be able to answer them. Liz is a very nice teacher if you do not get intimidated by her and is willing to help.

Perfect teacher for procrastinators. She will make you a soldier! Very intimidating, but at the same time very helpful. She is very knowledgeable and expects you to know everything. Her Clinical is usually tougher, but when you are done with Liz, you are ready for graduation. I would taker her again!!

As others have said, this is by far the most intelligent of the instructors at RCTC's RN prog., but she is one of the most intimidating if you let her. Be confident, know what your doing & why, and be enthusiastic to learn and you will do fine. She can smell BS and weakness, so be truthful.

When I had her, Liz was teaching fourth semester. The subject matter was more advanced and more intense, as it should be during final semester. I appreciated her attention to detail, and respect the way she takes nursing seriously. Yes, the ROUBs hang too heavily over your head, but being a nurse is VERY serious and a lot of responsibility. One of the most unpleasant educational experiences of my career were under her instruction. She is argumentative and unbending and often illogical. She did try, however, to listen to students. I believe she is probably a nice person but is in the wrong job.
