Sean is simply the best. He gives tons of great practical, on the job advice for the stuff he's teaching (System Administration and Linux stuff) and he's an entertaining lecturer with tons of crazy stories so his classes are never dull. You can learn a LOT. I never used Linux before CSC128 but now Manjaro is my go to OS. Thanks Sean. :)

His class is easy if you pay attention, just make sure you really pay attention the first few weeks and you will be fine. Takes a couple weeks to warm up to but when you do he is a really interesting person. #smauneyismyhero --- get that trending

Sean knows his stuff but is not the best at teaching it to his students. Do not ask questions unless you want to have Sean make you look like a fool in front of the class.

He doesn't teach. He will lecture about rambles, you won't learn much and most likely not do well on tests. Do no take him for AGB 102

This guy is awesome. I went into this class because it was mandatory, I have tried Linux in the past, but I hated it. I left the class at the end of the semester loving Linux. I now prefer to use Archlinux but I also have Debian installed on my system. Thanks Sean!

Sean is awesome! People complain that he goes on tangents--but most of his tangents have some crazy life lesson to the, or are just a nice way to enjoy the class. He gets all his teaching done and really knows his stuff.

The dude abides!!!! Sean is a great teacher and as long as you pay attention in class and can do some legwork to find the answers (he won't hand hold you through this class) then it's very gratifying in the end. Some labs are tough but they are all doable with the information he gives you.

Clear, honest, fair & humble. A quintessential mesomorph hick from N California. Class experience is like being taught by Lebowski. Never seen him eat a vegetable.

Very organized structure to his classes. Somewhat relaxed with his deadlines, but he's very keen on making sure that everyone is staying on track. Labs are generally short and to the point, and he is easy to approach if you don't understand something. His tests are a lot less intimidating then they might seem if you're keeping up with the homework

First item of note: only a unique individual would try to raise his own score on here and admit it! Sean is a great teacher but be prepared to show up and work hard. Slacking is not well tolerated. He sets the bar high and his expectations can either push you ahead or right off the cliff. Its up to you. Always remember: Google is your friend

Yeah that last one brought it up by one tenth. So I assume I need to post about 10 or so more to be a really good teacher.

CSC 128 (Linux Intro), CSC171 (Linux Install/Admin), CSC271 (Linux Advanced/Security), CSC130 (Intro to Networking) Fun, playful even, but still proper and PC. Highly informative, easy-going, and never afraid to admit when he's wrong or doesn't know an answer. Also strong-willed, and strong of mind, and has lots of character and influence. TB

If you have experience in the computer field Sean is a great teacher. If you are new than you will probably struggle. Treats you like an employer would. I don't welcome that philosophy because this is training not working. Training environments are are supposed to be supportive. The textbook for this class was awful. Overall you will learn alot.

Tall, funny and harsh in a same time. He looks like Jesus. Quite fair in grading, demanding. Doesn't do reserve, and admit that he doesn't know everything. Nice clear structured syllabus and class rules.

One of the best teachers I've had so far. The man has teaching computer classes down to a science basically. Show up and listen, and you'll enjoy yourself. Very laid back, and he's funny, which is always a plus! He grades on a curve. I could've taken the class without the book.

He makes you remember and use the material from past semesters so if you don't pay attention in the early classes you will have a hard time.
