Dr. Harris is one of the greatest professors at this school. Not only does he obviously love what he does, but he WANTS you to learn. I think he is easy to reach, although he does not respond to e-mails. Go to office hours! I am planning on taking more classes with him and I would recommend him to everyone! HE'S THE BEST!

Let me be the first to say that the ratings are highly exaggerated! Super boring to say the least. Only 3 papers for entire semester but you should kp up with reading or it will bite you later on. Grading is super subjective. Do not take him unless you want to settle for a B, but yeah he is an easy B. A is a different story.

Dr. Harris is a really kind and understanding professor. He gives you a lot of time to write your papers, and the reading is very manageable. You'll have to reiterate his ideas in your papers to get a good grade, so go to class, take good notes and participate. The only downside is that it's very hard to reach him outside of class.

Harris is a great professor and a wonderful soul. He is extremely knowledgeable of his subject (especially French liturature). His classes contain a lot of readings, but just pay attention in class and you'll be fine. Recommended, no reservations.

fantastic professor and sweet man. he's extremely intelligent and always spices up the class with anecdotes, etc. he gives ample time to write the papers (difficult, but manageable)- if you don't mind studying, the quizzes are fine. he explains all of the readings thoroughly and loves to answer questions. take him.

Great prof! Very interesting and very patient. Allows you to rewrite papers to get a better grade. I've never received less than an A- in class and do not know anyone else that has. Repeats his books in further classes.

I love his class because its fun and pretty easy as long as you do the reading, I can come to his class hungover and still be able to keep up. His papers are difficult but he gives you ample time

Sweet man, talks a lot but throws in random amusing stories. You really don't have to work too hard and still do well. In papers, include both sides of an argument to seem well rounded and you'll be fine.

very nice professor who tries to be helpful. v. easy grader, but you'll do better if you repeat his own opinions back to him in the papers. not very open to other points of view.

Not very fair in grading. Too much reading that isn't well covered in class (although the books are interesting) Agree with the others - he means well, and you ARE better off writing in HIS voice, not yours. Plus he talks and talks...

Means well, but makes you rewrite papers instead of suggesting you do for a higher grade. LOTS of reading. Agree with him; its not worth it not to. Also, difficult to find outside class.

lectures, all papers must be regurgitations of his ideas or you will have to rewrite them; never there for office hours, which are only 30 minutes twice a week anyway. B+ if you are quiet and spit back all of his ideas and if you're ok with not learning
