Great teacher, she always wants to help. She was very funny and helpful. Also easy, if you came to class and tried she gave you a good grade. I liked using the textbook because everything was in the book and that was all you needed for that class. Too bad she is retiring, she was a good teacher.

I enjoyed her class, she does lecture right from the book but does other things to keep class interesting. Some of her activities were a little stupid but overall I thought she was a good profesor and the class is pretty easy.

Kind of an old-fashioned teaching style. Guys get docked points for not wearing a tie, which I found out the hard way. Teaches basically straight from the book, making the quizzes easy. Expects a lot for a lib ed class, but while it's difficult, it's relatively enjoyable. She's very eager to help students.

She is crazy, but funny. She basically teaches straight out of the book-but she always has ridiculous side comments that will make you laugh. I thought she was really nice and the class wasn't bad with her.

I thought that she was a great teacher! It was a very easy class and as long as you are there and take notes, study for the tests, and listen, it's almost impossible to not get an A or a B. There are times when she will call you out in front of the class and just ask for your participation. I thought she was great and kept it interesting.

Mrs. Hoffman was by FAR, the worst professor I have ever experienced. In my ENTIRE LIFE; NOT JUST COLLEGE. After listening to her robotically recite the textbook VERBATIM for 3 months, she failed me for not having the correct work sheet to write on during class. I endured snide and condescending comments from her in front (and outside!!!) of class.

Nice lady, good grading system. Her last test was hard for me though, so make sure to study. Be prepared and you'll do just fine. There are some extra credit opportunities, which gave me that boost to ace the class. One time she told us about her and her husband having sex upside down. That was gross...

Despite the other comments, I found Mrs. Hoffman's style of teaching helpful. She broke down the public speaking methods and made them easy to understand. If you just apply yourself and show that you put work into your speech she will go easy on you. Overall, you will do well in her class if you put the work needed into the speech.
