he never admits his faults. grades like it's a calculus class (VERY incosistent). refuses to explain his grading procedure (bc he has none). if you leave 5 mins before class is up, he marks you absent. Attendance enforced. He was pleased w/ the class average of a 73 on the 1st test. "no one makes a hundred on anything." good luck bc youre screwed.

He is a weird teacher. If you want to even make a good B , go to class veryday amd make sure that he knows that you are there b.c. he will make you absent and not changed it. He teaches uneccessary stuff and makes you do uneccessary things. Dont me smart or put him on blast when he is wrong because he can make you grade reflect on that.

he sucks as a professor. one must ask if he even has a degree in health to teach these classes. he can't explain is grading system becauses its either he likes you or he doesn't. if you have a 69, 79, or any 9 he doesn't give that extra point. his classes are boring and he reads the notes from the board and sucks all around

He's a horrible teacher. He grades on your personality, so if you don't like to talk or smile, you're going to get a bad grade. He thinks that you are inable to do for yourself, very cocky and has no remorse. I wouldn't suggest you take him. He can never explain on how he grades, because he grades each person differently.

I don't understand how someone who claims to have never experimented with drugs/alcohol EVER got to teach this class. Everything is from the book so do not disagree and you have to show up everyday because he is one of the rare professors who grades on attendance. The guest speaker (ex-abusers) were the only interesting parts of the class!

ALL OF THIS CLASSES ARE EASY, BUT HE DOES GRADE ON ATTENDANCE WHICH IS NOT COOL AT ALL. YOU CAN EITHER READ OR TAKE NOTES, NO NEED TO DO BOTH. HE IS A STICKLER FOR THE RULES WHICH SUCKS. IN DRUG USE AND ABUSE HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THE SUBJECT MATTER BECAUSE HE'S SOME CONSERVATIVE SQUARE THAT NEVER DID ANYTHING IN HIS LIFE!

Dr. Barton is a good teacher, his lectures are way too long and he keeps you until the very last minute of class, but he's funny and takes an interest in his students....his notes are so-so, you may have to read the book on your own for clarity, which you should do anyway!
