Had Kees for 3 classes back in the mid 90s: History of France, Germany, and Russia. His penmanship on paper was almost indecipherable, but legible on the blackboard. He had a VAST knowledge of European history, and was friendly and helpful outside of class. I remember talking about the Dutch film 'Spetters' with him. Just an overall nice guy.

One of the most intelligent and humorous people I’ve ever met. He’d make the best “phone a friend” on millionaire. I really appreciated that he accepted different methods of citation (MLA, APA, etc) depending on your major.
