A lot of outside reading is required. His quizzes are difficult but attainable. He is a discussion based professor and it was a nice change of pace. He isn't too keen on phones. No tests or final. He wants you to learn not memorize. He is a pretty good professor. Don't expect grades back quickly

Comment:

Krawcyznski is an Amazing Teacher. There are NO tests or finals. We do have assignments due at every class meeting. You have to read roughly 5 pages, and answer 9 questions, which will be talked about in class. He does read it thoroughly, so answer every part of the question.

I think the people that spoke so poorly of him are used to whitewashed history. The lectures/class discussions were thought provoking at best & many times fellow students had conflicting views from him but they were 100% free to voice them. I learned & retained the most history here than any other class. Some historical docs are hard to understand.

Dr. K was very informative about history. He encourages participation and voicing your opinions. If you come to class with an open mind, and willingness to learn, you'll be fine.

Dr. K teaches one of the most unique classes on United States history I have ever taken. We did not use a textbook in the class. He did lecture occasionally, but class periods consisted of discussion. Participation is crucial. He encourages people to speak up, voice opinions. Don't skip classes, and if you're struggling he will help you.

Dr. K. was my first professor at AUM, and he was really great! He was very accessible outside the classroom and always gave great feedback on assignments. Be prepared to do a lot of readings, especially primary sources. Dr. K. recommended my first graduate research paper to the Dames of AL. Grad students, be prepared to do a lot of work.

He was an amazing teacher! This class was taught much differently than past history classes. You will have a discussion in class everyday (which you must participate in or he will call on you) but I am so happy I decided to take his class. You will be amazed at how much you didn't know about our country! Much recommended!!

DONT TAKE. The material was lacking of any substance, and was presented in a slanted and biased way. The teacher devoted class to busting myths; it was all subjective. A history course should teach some historical facts. I cannot determine if he is qualified to teach, but I am able to recognize when an agenda is being forced down my throat.

Dr. K seems intimidating when it comes to his syllabus, no worries though, he will be reasonable with the assignments. I enjoy the class and really learned more than expected. If you ready the material and write with grammatical correctness, you will pass with a great grade. Be sure to participate, enjoys others thoughts and opinions on the subject

His teaching style is strictly lecture. We had to read many pages of primary sources prior to class on top of two different text books. However, if you do the reading and pay attention in class, it turns into a lot of fun. He is very witty and the lectures are never dull.

AWESOME professor!! If you want an easy teacher then do not take him; however, I loved this class. The test are HARD, but as long as you take notes you will be fine. You don't need the book. Attendance is a MUST! He just makes history fun. :)

Dr. K is a great professor for anyone who likes or doesn't like history. He is extremely intelligent on the subject and very opinionated. I took both of his classes and loved them. At first the test were hard but they got easier after knowing what to expect. If you want to know a lot about our country's past then I highly recommend taking Dr. K.

Awesome professor! He give a decent amount of workload and his tests are exactly what you write down in your notes. Gives quizzes on the book chapters but there are supposed to be 12 quizzes, he maybe gave us 6 and gave 100;s on the others because he always forgets the quizzes at home.

Be there EVERY DAY. Attendance isn't mandatory, but required for passing the class. The only grades he takes is three tests, including the final, and his tests are essays and definitions. Thankfully you don't have to bother with the textbook as his essays come directly from his occasionally hilarious lectures. Very, very knowledgeable teacher.

I don't know where all the negative comments are coming from. I have had Dr. K for two histories and am about to a third time. He is incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. He is very easy to work with and encourages students to get involved in discussion or ask qestions anytime. He is difficult but unless a person is lazy, they will be fine.

EXTREMELY hard class!! Attendance is mandatory because ALL essay questions are from lectures only, and are worth 70 points each. If you are not a history major, NOT the class for you. Will NEVER take him again because he feels everyone should be as interested in the class as he is.
