She has a strong stigma that this course has a lot of work today. I found that you can get through it with half the work, if you're smart. She makes you do blog post each week, but you can fill it up with quotes from new articles, so they aren't that bad. I didn't like the Woman when I met her, and messaging her is awful, no email. Dont take this!!

Professor Scranton's syllabus was off by 400 points and I paid for it in the end. She expected the class to write a 3 to 4 page paper every week as if we didn't have 3 to 4 other classes to do assignments for. I spoke with her on several occasions about discrepancies and her story changed every time. If you see her name RUN in the other direction

All these complaints are from people who obviously did not read the syllabus. How can you fail her classes, when she is one of the only professors (in the pols dept.) I've had, that takes late assignments. If you don't understand she is very helpful, call her!

This is the only class at UALR that I have not passed, now granted I just lost complete motivation halfway through and stopped working at all. She is a tough grader, and even when giving my all I never could get full points, she assigned way to much of a boring topic to read, and there was way more work than necessary.

Dr. Scranton is a wonderful professor, but she does have high expectations, which is reasonable for the particular courses I had her in. Expect lots of homework in her class, but in my experience, she generally doesn't grade too hard. The feedback is what's important. Listen to the feedback she gives and adjust your future work accordingly.

One of the BEST Political Science teachers at UALR!!! If you follow directions, and ask questions when you don't understand..... she WILL definitely help you. She always replies.

This instructor is very unreasonable with her work load for the course. I am currently taking her class and on the average I spend at least 6-8hours a day with her work. Her test are confusing and random. She uses programs that grade harsh. She offers extra credit essays that are graded by computer based on a holistic scale.

This is my first negative review. This professor is horrible. Her questions are very confusing and often unrelated to the readings. She uses adjectives inapproriately on multiple choice questions. If you enjoy American government and enjoy learning and doing well in college do not take any class with this teacher.

I am currently taking this class as a prerequisite for my Master's degree. This is supposed to be a freshman level course and it is very difficult. All tests are multiple choice and she tries to incorporate critical thinking into a multiple choice question which is impractical. Questions and answers contradict material from the book. Do not take.

She's a very intelligent professor with well thought out powerpoints and tests. But she ONLY gives tests, and they're not easy. It's almost impossible to earn an A because 15 tests (20-30 questions each) are easy to bomb by just missing a few questions. Not all questions covered in book or lecture, either. I wouldn't take her again.

Took the 5 week summer course of Am Nat Gov on the web. It was hard! 3 tests a week, some of the chapters were over 40 pages each, one was 60. I worked full time and was taking Civ 1, so study time was tense. Read the chapter & make notes in margin noting where key points are - it helps. Pulled a B out of her class, and even failed one test.

Took her political science 1310 class in summer. Very hard, hard to know what answer she wants on tests. Was not going to make better than D, so dropped her class. Do not take this instructor.

This tcher is horrible. I took her n sumer(5wks) we went through an entire book (15) chap. I read, studied and utilized mypoliscilab and still made a D in her class. We had 15 test. 1 every other day. Worse part, test did not match some of the questions. They were from previous or future chapters. Have 2 b in her brain to know what she want. Run!

This teacher really makes you work for your grade. I took her for National Gov. and then tried to take her for American Presidency before I dropped it. She expects you to do way to much work. Read several chapters a week and take a weekly exam. After studying and reading the chapters each week, everyone still had a difficult time making even a B

Do not take her class if you can avoid it! I took it in 5 weeks in the summer while having a job and it was nearly impossible. She expects you to read at least 3 chapters a week with 3 tests, that usually do not match up to what you read. She expects way too much and it is very difficult to pass her class!

I took her National government class on line abd had to study more than I should have to understand the material because there is absolutely no help from the instructor. Not lectures or anything helpful to prepare you for the test.I would not recommend this class to anyone!
